My cat will eat from his plate/bowl but there are times where he will just meow. And this is when he has food on the plate. So I have to pick some of the food from the plate and place it on the floor, which he eats.

He can be so picky at times (this is my oldest cat, btw).

Anyone here a picky eater (or their pets)?

Our dogs will eat anything, even hot peppers. The cats, however will only eat their food.

Hi, I'm Terra and I'm a picky eater.

Basically, I have severe texture aversions and never got over childhood eating pickiness. I only eat a few things total and tend to not like to eat more than one ingredient at once like a sandwich unless it's a very familiar combination, usually of just 2 things.

It's annoying as fuck, but I still can't force myself to choke things down.

I hate overly fatty things like mayonnaise, cheesecake, etc. I also hate all fish, and carrot cake, and most sausage, and don't care for eggs either.

I also hate milk which has not remained cool for the entire ride over to where I am. I can taste if it has been allowed to warm up, even when other people can't tell.

I also don't care much for chicken and am picky over what few deli things I will eat.

I also dislike caramel and butterscotch.

I think there's more, sometimes I forget until I'm presented with the food I hate.

I'm not terribly picky, but when I was little I mostly just preferred to eat the same things all the time. I don't remember the specifics, though, but I doubt I made a big deal of it.

I'll eat most foods, nowadays except like, tomatoes or peas and some other things.

^ This very much.

This comes down to me eating pasta for dinner almost every day! (though, I don't mind as I love past! )

Which my mom is a pain in the ass at as she still try to force me to eat other new weird stuff, where in most cases it's mixes of thins I don't like in the first place! :specialed:

Good thing I moved to my dad so I can get away from her and all her BS.

I'll eat just about anything and I'm always open to try new things. If I eat the same thing all the time I get sick of it before long. The things I eat most often are solely for economic reasons and me be able to cook them easily. The only things I might shy away from are stuff that is noticeably not fresh and/or poor quality. For instance I've never eaten at George's coneys again after I got a hotdog that not only looked grey and old, but the chillit sauce was brown and crusty, and the whole thing had a rainbow sheen to it like you sometimes see in oil patches in parking lots. I'm not eating anything that looks like it was prepared in engine oil (unless it's professionally made squid ink soup), especially if its from some ghetto shabby place on the west side.

I'm not all that picky, but I will not eat seafood. Besides the normal weird stuff like liver, pigs feet, etc. I'll eat just about anything. My brothers on the other hand, they're the picky ones. Not all 4 of them, just the 2 twins. They don't like most vegetables, onions, anything that adds flavor. They like plain food. Not sure how I escaped that, but I'm thankful I'm not as picky.

I thought this was about pets, but yes, I myself am a very picky eater, and my favorite foods are:

Kung Pao Chicken (The only chicken thing I really like. Kung Pao shrimp is also good. ^.^
That miso soup you find in the bowl at Target. Miso soup in general is very good for your skin.
Italian heroes. also love Italian combos at
Anything spicy. I love really spicy things.
Cheeses. Blue cheese, brie, anything really.
I'm not much of a seafood person but I like Shrimp. Bertolti Shrimp scampi is really good
Havabars (or whatever they call them) ground sesame seed bars.
Space Icecream (Lovw it. Coffee is a really good flavor, but I like them all)
Stoufer's Veal Parmesan TV dinners
Campbell's select Mushroom Soup when they made it I do like the butternut squash
That's pretty much it.

Since we can also post about pets, I'll say my cats aren't really that picky. They only eat cat food, but they'll eat it any time, any day, any where. My in-laws' dogs, however, will only eat when they're home. If they have food out but they are out somewhere, they won't eat. My parents' dogs are the same way.

Hi, I am very very picky. I usually get the same thing every time I visit a particular place. I'm not very adventurous, either, and will rarely try new food. But at least I'm trying!

Another person that didn't read....

Anyway, as for me, I'm not that picky. I just don't like to mix certain foods together on a plate.

I did jump the gun. The star made me do it.

Not sure if it's picky or not, but I can't stand people who put ketchup on mac & cheese.

I used to put ketchup on my pizza when I was in elementary school. My friends thought I was weird, but it was like extra sauce.

I just realized something about my in-laws though: You don't often find a picky eater Hawaiian

I've heard that being a picky eater could be caused by parents trying to force food down when you're younger, or a bad early experience with a food. I was a difficult child, so maybe that's where it came from.

I'm a picky eater. There is a long list of stuff I just don't like to eat. Some food items have to do with overexposure. When you eat a lot of a certain type of meal while growing up and get sick of it when you are older. Right now I hate red rice and beans so much that it makes me mad just looking at it.

I don't like beans. People find it strange than I'm puerto rican and I don't eat beans. Though it should be of no surprise, there are a lot of spanish dishes that I just avoid.

I also hate corn beef. God damn you corn beef. My fiancee loves it.

I'm a big fan of chicken. Looooove chicken.

One of my cats (Pepper) mostly only eats wet food. She demands a little slice of wet food in the morning, afternoon, and evening. She also eats just about any kind of meat and begs from me constantly during dinner.

One time I caught her eating from the dry food bowl and just had to snap a picture. Busted!

The other four cats are mostly all dry food eaters, which works out well for me. Although sometimes they'll eat the leftover wet food because Pepper usually only eats about half of what I give her per serving. Sometimes they'll eat freshly-cooked chicken and turkey, too, but otherwise aren't big on table scraps.
