Yes. because all of the matter that the bullet hits is forced out through the exit hole, which has to be bigger to accommodate all of the matter that is being pushed out.

Morbid, aren't I

How does your feet react to a mine? Aside from being blown outwards.

Depending if it's low energy transfer or high energy transfer, the bullet itself causes pulses which makes the flesh move in a pumping way, which causes it to get damaged by streching and moving. Also, often when a bullet hits flesh, it starts spinning and causes more damage. Don't even get me started on what happens if it hits bone

Foot blown off a mine might actually not bleed much, since the heat essentially welds your arteries shut. Flesh is basically scraped off your bone and your foot gets annihilated. You'll probably have lots of internal bleeding and a concussion.

Best treatment to a patient when you're under fire? cABC and [trope]MoreDakka[/trope]. Achieving a safe way to evacuate the patient is what you always aim for.

Thought you'd want to see some pictures as well! I'll have to get more though, it's just a tad hard getting a permission for pictures

Here's where I'm currently living in. Houses around 200 soldiers innit. Such is the dark, gloomy room I live in. I've got only one room mate though, another corporal there so at least plenty of space! Here I was supervising two medics who were setting up a radio connection. These things were using are ancient, but they still work... sometimes.

Looks like quite the ritzy hotel you got there. Still, having a solid roof over your head beats being out in a tent.

I couldn't find a youtube video of it, but this reminds me of the quote by Epps in the first Transformers, "These are like Radio Shack dinosaur radios"

I'll get out 7th of January next year, so that's less than half year now.

You'll get used to them pretty fast.

Whew, I fortunately got myself a six day holiday now. It's hard getting a day off the service

You make it sound like you're in prison! But we're grateful for your service. Its not like your serving on the front lines with your life in jeopardy every day, but its more than most of the rest of us are doing for our country.

Some people regard this worse than jail. I always think that it's just one more experience to my bank of life experiences (and a free leadership training as well!)

Fun fact: If you decline of going into the army AND civil service, you get around 13 months of jail. BUT, go into the army, stay there for a few weeks, decline all service and bam, half less of jail!

Then we have our classes:

A-Class: "Whoa buddy, you're all set serving for whole year! Nothing wrong, healthy and all! Damn straight we'll make you stay here for a year!"
B-Class: "Well, you're not that healthy it seems, arm, leg, whatever. But you'll still serve a year, we'll just put you in an office!"
C-Class: "Looks like you can't serve, damnit. Gtfo and come back when a war strikes! We don't need you till then."
E-Class: "ARM BREAK. TRY AGAIN IN BEEP SIX MONTHS."

Ah yeah, forgot two other classes. They're a tad rare though.

D-Class: "No way, not now, not in war, never. Don't come back, you..."
T-Class: "Well you're healthy... but wait, what is this? You've sent a bomb threat and got caught? You might be dangerous with a gun. Sorry, no go."

Holy shit and I thought sitting and watching over the patients would be boring. One of our patients just got some sort of convulsion, saying about immense burning inside his chest.

Took him to the local, real hospital. I hope he's okay He was in the same company during the rookie season.

No hurry, Xkeeper. It's just a color, anyway

They told me he was OK, currently getting antibiotics and resting in the hospital. Hopefully he's getting better. It's been a busy week in the army hospital. We've had:

- The convulsion patient.
- Lots of lung fever patients.
- One guy had a brawl with his friend and fell to the ground, scraping his head in the process. There was a nice pool of blood
- Intoxicated guy, who was puking blood.
- A few stress patients.
- And generally lots of fever and plain cough.

Good to know he's ok. I've seen some seizures by relatives and it is disturbing to watch.

I can handle seeing other people's blood. But seeing mine (at least in large quantities) I get queezy. First time it happened I was in an accident and busted my knee (we rolled and I wasn't buckled in). Looking at my knee with a big hole in it almost made me pass out.

It's the small things that set me off. I can watch surgeons poking around in someone's guts and I'm interested. Yet, papercuts make me squirm ¬¬

I'm the reverse of Orlandu. I can handle looking at my own blood or injuries, but with others', I get grossed out. I could never be a medical doctor.

Good thing that it gets far slower during the weekends. You see, when we go to work in the army hospital it's a one week duty, which means you're stuck there over the weekend. It's no big deal though (at least for me).

Free laptop usage really helps with the boredom.
