When your parents refer to them not by their name, but rather your relation to them.

For example:
"Have you talked to your brother today?"
"Have you called your grandmother today?"

Not very subtle, considering how every other time they talk about them, they use their names.

So yeah, I'm shit at remembering birthdays, my entire family knows this, yet continues to pound it in my head that somebody's birthday is super important to know and if you don't drop everything you're doing right this moment and call them and wish them a happy birthday you're evil and aren't a member of the family.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh, I don't even care about my own brithday much, even less about others.

Though, my mom and dad refuse to see it my way so we still have to buy each other pressents. At least my brother agress with me.

I pretty much know the birthdays of close family members.

Facebook helps me to remember the rest.

After a while, we stopped tracking a lot of the birthdays. I still remember my mom's, of course, along with my dad's, grandma's, and a few other relatives'.

Of course, my dad's is so easy, considering that it's also Christmas

Since my older two sisters left the house when I was so young, I never really even celebrated their birthdays or even knew the exact dates until just a short time ago. I just knew all three of them had the exact same Zodiac sign. On top of that, I only knew the youngest's birthday, and was the first birthday I actually had memorized. Took a bit of work to cement dad's birthday. Knew it was at the end of March, but couldn't decide between the 30th or 31st. Ended up figuring it out by the date Invader Zim premiered. Go figure. My mom, though I still need a bit of prodding to remember. Either the 7th or 8th, and she isn't exactly nice when I have to ask (then again, who would be?). Still, I remember their ages, so that's good.

I'm pretty good at memorizing things, so I remember all the birthdays of my immediate family. My stepmother has the same sort of attitude toward Christmas gifts though. When she "hints" at what someone wants, it means you buy them that or you're a horrible person and should be ashamed.

My dad and father-in-law are both in July.

Mine is December, my grandmother is three days after mine and hubby's is three weeks after.

My family is never subtle about it. I always get reminders weeks, days, and minutes before a relative's birthday, usually coupled with "you should call them".

Most of my family's birthdays are in November, December, and January, and then there's me in July (and mom in March, and a few other stragglers).

My mom's birthday is in March as well.

Not a fan of March birthdays.

Most of my family birthdays seem to be in either December, February, or March. I even have a cousin born on my birthday and one born a few days after it.

January (29, mother), February (6, grandmother, a week later) and sometime in August (5th?) for another friend.

I'm good at remembering months but that's pretty much it.

To hell if I know. All I can think of off the top of my head is mine (Feb3 for those who can't check profiles) and my brother's (Feb6, but 8 or 9 years older and hasn't lived here in a long while). Yahoo! Groups ends up reminding me whenever someone does have a birthday, but even then I don't do much anything about it. (Hell sometimes I outright delete it...I'm so cruel)

Speaking of, my youngest older half sister is having her 30th birthday next Friday (the 13th, oddly), and I have no idea what to get her with only ~$20 dollars. Do I even have to get her anything? I honestly have no idea what to do here, guys.

I remember mine, my wife's, and 1 of my brothers. And now my kids, but thats about it. I know my mom's is in June and the twins are just a week or so later. I've never been good with dates.

But this is what Facebook is for.

Oh, and Happy Birtday to Drag's brother, or grandmother, or cousin, or uncle, or whoever was the inspiration for this thread.

I was in the doctor's office today and there was a man filling out a form. He had to ask his son for his mom's (wife) birthday.
