Same.

Oh God, isn't there some option for me to have the old style back? And perhaps have some Old Style?

Didn't sankakucomplex.com's image search thing do this first?

This seems like a nice feature, for those of us who like to be lazy at least.

I actually like the new style, I find it much more convenient. I do wish there was a way to go directly to the image.

After trying it out for a few days now, I do miss the direct link. On this slower PC at work, takes a few seconds for the picture to come up over the website in the background. Works fine at home though.

Yeah.

Bluh, the larger Google gets, the more it gets up its own ass.

On my monitor, the search results look like a train wreck and when I click on a picture to go to the page it's from, Google puts the image over the page and blows it up so it looks horribly pixelated.

Yeah, looks like the change has finally reached all the other browsers. I think I prefer the old one. The new one seems very process intensive, which this laptop does not like.

Although I do find it amusing that my Pepper is in the top results for "red patch tabby".

new google search is fine.

I have no problems with it. I actually prefer the way it hides content of some websites and just shows the picture.

I have no problems with it. I'm just scared how my mouse always manages to hit the ONE hentai image on the page ¬¬

Same here. It's quite nice (even though I do primarily use Bing.) And the new sorting filters are nice as well.

Personally, I don't. One of my subdomains (raugallery) gets a lot of hits off people searching images and unless they're looking for pictures of the actual characters, there's no real reason to be getting images from there. Any images on that site could just as easily be found elsewhere, and people taking them from there without viewing the pages does not benefit the site in any way. I'm going to have to see if I can write a script that will block Google Images from taking from that subdomain, which they really have no business doing anyway since they disapprove pretty heavily of the site's content.

Well you can use robots.txt to prevent it from even indexing that subdomain, or you can use some stupid hack that does nothing but annoy your potential users.

Does it actually link directly to the images now? I didn't think they'd ever really do that for fear of people getting a bug up their butt and/or broken "anti-leeching" systems that don't work well with Google. There are of course plenty of Greasemonkey scripts to do this (and RefControl, AdBlock and NoScript to deal with shitty anti-leech systems).

If Google gave as many hits to the site on their main search engine as they do off the image search, I wouldn't care about it, but they won't (for reasons I won't go into here - I have an ongoing feud with Google that I don't wish to drag anyone else into).

The biggest problem is that my stats system (which is usually good for most things) does not list the search terms for image searches, so in general I can't tell what people are looking for there. But whenever someone tries to hotlink an image on another message board, blog, or website, it's almost always one of the "meme" pics that can be found a billion other places (like the CDi drawing of Link or the facepalm montage).

I hated Google back when they came into existence. New image searches and hotlinking people doesn't help it.

People keep telling me to use it instead of Yahoo. Yeah, and when they make a new liquor brand, you should stop drinking whatever you are drinking now in favor of that. Makes about as much sense as only buying cars from the newest car brands in existence--none.
