Haha, I love these thread titles. Someone is going to bitch about "here we go complaining again"... I'm not complaining at all, just wanted use the same title trend we instituted previously.

Google updated its image search page. All results, or most, are on one scrollable page like a thumbnail gallery. More are loaded as you scroll down, and mouse-over brings up the images information. Pretty neat.

Apparently they stole the idea from Bing, but I never used it so I would never have known.

I like messing with the search picture by color feature.

Google stealing from Bing? That's unexpected.

When is the update supposed to take effect? I still see the normal image search page.

Maybe I see it since I use Chrome... not sure. The article does say its in testing, so I guess not everyone gets to use it yet. What browser do you use, Peardian?

The normal image search still shows up in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.

Like Google copying Youtube before buying it out or what about Google Buzz (another social network).

The new image search function is better when looking for images and want to pick a specific one from the subject, but I find it harder to find the source of the image. :o

Anyhow, I just noted that with the side bar on the left side, I have in totall more interface then actually search results on my netbook. >:(

Wow, this is pretty nifty.

I still wish there were a way to click straight to the image file, without loading the site.

It'll take a little time to get used to the lack of pages though, but that's just because I'm used to my results being divided somehow.

This.

Also, I find it annoying how if you go ahead and navigate to another page and then elect to remove the frame, you're booted back to the initial page. Is that still the case, though?

I found that anoying. It should really give you an option to ether take you the source page (without the frame) or the image itself from the search page

I actually like the new Google Image Search... pretty cool how it tiles them, keeping aspect ratio and size in mind. =P

Doesn't Flickr do this too?

...? That's not possible. There's no link straight to the image. If you want to view the image file, you have to click on the result/thumbnail and then the link to the image is provided.

come on, google, it's such a simple feature

Paulguy's Post configuration
Sounds like a good idea, but it doesn't work right on my iphone at all. The iphone doesn't support scrollable divs of all basic things not to supports, and the whole page just shows up completely but never loads more images.

I actually like huge pages. It's less hassle to use my scroll wheel than to constantly click on little numbers and remember which page had a particular image I was interested in but continued after.

I would probably be a bit annoyed by this but since I don't use Google as a search engine anymore it doesn't bother me at all . I still believe though that an option to change back to the old layout should be provided for those who like it more.

Actually, you'd still have to remember numbers. Just not as many.
