I've made a lot of threads lately and nobody else is, but if it makes discussion...

Anyway, do you have any rivals? You know, someone you always try to outbest. One that I had the pleasure of reliving tonight was Trent, my mom's friend (and a good friend of mine as well) -- it is utter war between us in Track and Field on the ArcadePC I have... no matter how hard I try, he always manages to beat me in the high score, even though it's always my name on the World Record scores!... mostly because I can't do the high-jump.

We went at it again tonight. Sure enough, I didn't win... and not only that, he improved his high score by another 10,000, to 65,000

My brothers and I are sorta rivals when it comes to games. It's mostly because of our learning curves and the fact we're brothers. When I start a game, I pick up stuff fast, and while I may not be the best, I can survive pretty well. At some point I stop getting better and just level off. My brother, however, starts off slow. He'll play me, get beaten, then practice. And practice. And practice. Then it gets to the point where he's much better than me. Sure, if I play him, I can survive and occasionally win, but if I don't pay attention he'll beat me into the ground. In SSBM, if he gets focused enough, he can kill me twice without taking a scrap of damage. He moves so fast (stupid Falco...) that I can't even attack, and when I do, he's already dodged and is halfway through a smash kick.


I can't think of any other good examples, but it's pretty much the same for other games. Oh! Wi-Fi games. He's nuts at Wi-Fi games. He snipes on impulse in Hunters. He doesn't remember what doing it half the time. I've watched his screen and it almost never zooms in fully before he zooms back out.


He plays 200 lines of Tetris DS to go to sleep every night.




I could try and improve more, but I'm too busy doing fun stuff like, say, collecting explosive boxes or driving a Warthog around like the Dukes of Hazzard. :3

I guess you can say I have a Rival.

I have a friend of mine who is always trying to prove me wrong when it comes to OpenGL coding.

In the end, I always make some kind of Macro or Model to piss him off. Sometimes I always walk into a mod project to find stuff like a pic of me on the welcoming page with a big dick next to it. Thats always adorable

Then I have a friend who does not know shhhhiiiittttt about code. Like today he told me that myspace does not host images.

Meh, when it comes to video games I and my cousin are rivals.
I beat him up at SSB, but the tables are turned when it comes to SA2B.
Most other games have a 50 percent chance of me or him winning.

I would say I'm unparalled, people would believe me, but that'd be a lie.

Probably dates all the way back to when I went against my best friend in the whole wide world in Pokemon Blue in '98 and it came down to the wire and I suckily lost. Been pretty much rival competition ever since. I mean I probably wouldn't have got nearly as good in TA if it weren't for him and he wouldn't have if it wasn't for me. There are just some games, however, that one's way better than the other in.

Though it is fun to bump heads in fighting games every so often...specially Capcom VS SNK. He hates KI with a passion (many do).

Can't really say I have any real rivals over here. Every time I seem to fire up ZSNES, with the exception of X as long as it's a game he knows he comes close or whoops me wholly in, people seem to cringe and run in fear.

I don't ever remember beating you (just getting to 9'59 in TA Lv1 VS and finally losing), just coming close... or even getting cheated into a loss by TA's silly system that allows to-the-frame based loses ... which I actually did again recently

Beyond that, all I ever remember is just waking up in a random Pokecenter with half my money gone and a bad headache usually getting whalloped and resolving to never play that game again.
