Right, let's pay for a message board that has all the suck of PHPBB and then some. Um, no. VBulliten and PHPBB are the two forum systems that piss me off more than any others with their retarded designs.

Actually I know one that's even worse. [Link] [In action]

The horrible designed interface of the taiga forum system is rivaled to none.

I hate vB's design ... phpBB3 is also disgusting. The only board system whose skin had me in love was IPB 2.x and then they ruined it all when they released 3.x.

Jul's design is pretty, simple and practical.

That one seems to depend a lot on the skin you use. It doesn't help that Metroid 2002 is using a terrible skin.

Have you tried using it though?

It simply just tries to be a clunked down IM in forum format, which kinda ruins the point.
Then again, this might just be me, but I find it horrible to use.

I haven't been to a vBulletin in a long time... needless to say, my favorite board systems right now (not counting AcmlmBoard) are SMF and MyBB. They're pretty good, and don't have too many needless features. =)

Now all we need is an MSPaint image of all the people of this forum relentlessly beating VBulliten to death while Dark_Live whatever looks on in confusion. :p

I never liked vBulletin. It's just... ick.
phpBB is a little better, but just as bad.
Something like Vanilla or FluxBB though is good.

What the?! That is the strangest (and most verbose) way to execute an SQL query I've ever seen. I have to wonder what insanity possessed them to do that...

That's a built query, which is actually how most people do them these days (it really helps cut down on the vulnerabilities ... as long as the builder is, well, built right)

VB takes forever to load on dial-up. Acmlm boards are small, work well, and have features that most boards do not.

Also, it has been said, but spambotsellsdrughereposts!

Well, since this seems to be a topic of upgrade suggestions....

How about upgrading to AcmlmBoard XD. ABXD 2.0 is almost released... You can see the beta in action here.

No can do. ABXD is largely coded by some of Jul's enemies.

Really, I highly doubt that Xkeeper will change the board system used by Jul.

I don't know about Kawa, but Arbe and Mega-Mario are permabanned from Jul. Not only that, but they have hacked Jul before.

Yeah... I remember reading about the Mega-Mario Mega-Moron (as he was called during it) fiasco before, but I have not read anything on Arbe...

I also guess it would be a bad idea to mention that I have a board based on ABXD...

Not only that, but it would not be 'upgrading' to that forum system but rather 'replacing.' Even if I gave them the benefit of the doubt of making an equally secure system as what we have now, it'd be more an arbitrary feature swap than anything else.

Could you people just realize this place is NOT going to change board systems and find something better to do with your time?

Also, why does your owning of a board using that system matter? It doesn't. If I owned a board made by proboards, that wouldn't make this place switch either. Or on the other hand, it wouldn't get me banned for having the 'enemy's' board because it doesn't matter.

I was just making a statement of both and idea and my opinion... And that was a joke about owning an enemy board... (I do own it, but the thing about being a bad idea to mention it)

*ILikeNSMBHacking goes waltz off away from this topic...

I have an AcmlmBoard 2.1, but that wouldn't make Jul upgrade either, even though it really was coded partially by Acmlm and Xkeeper

I know of a hole in ABXD, too (maybe fixed by now). A pretty fucking huge, gaping, enormous hole. And it's missing a lot of AB 1.92's features.

You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
