Store brand sodas are every bit as good as the name brands, IMHO.

If you have a Food Lion near you, try their diet soads. They're flavored with Splenda instead of Aspartame.

I had that idea as a kid. It didn't occur to me at the time that I didn't know how much of everything, or what was done to the ingredients (cooking, mixing, etc).

I guess you can at least guess at relative proportions from the order, as AFAIK they're listed in order from largest to smallest proportion. (Ever notice sugar is always one of the first three?)

I couldn't either until I drank them exclusively.

If you don't know what you're missing, you don't really miss it.

Pepsi probably doesn't want you to know them, so that you can't make your own Pepsi and sell it

I don't like diet soft drinks. The artificial sweetener tends to leave an unpleasant taste in my mouth.

Yes, Pepsi Max does taste a lot different from Pepsi but I actually prefer it.

Yea, I've noticed the same with Price Chopper diets, wonder if they're from the same supplier... =P

Side note: I never liked regular, since I grew up on diet... although major brands have been slow to switch to sucralose or stevia (what will it take, an aspartame ban to finally get them to switch? Like that's ever going to happen...)

At one point, I1 actually had a user named Pepsi Max (usually Max, it was a temp name change).

I remember Food Lion when we took trips to Virginia.

Northern Florida, maybe? I know I've seen that and Kroger in northern FL...

Side-Note: Aspartame has links to Multiple Scelerosis(spelling?). Clearly, it'd take a lot, but it can happen.

Side-Side-Note: I has a syndrome

Drove through GA, that's about it. And I didn't see much either, just a bunch of trees and rivers.

It might have been here, but I'm not sure.

Kroger was a big chain in Michigan, as was Farmer Jack before they disappeared.

I don't know what the big grocery chains are out here. I live downtown where most grocers are independent

Bingo. Had to have been either in South Florida or in VA.
