I read through the entire Transcript and even watched the video (Which was pretty much the same thing, that website had a few errors).

Seems that he -really- wants peace throughout both lands. Either the Americans drop the Democratic party, or this war will continue.

What do you guys think about this?

Yes, because everybody knows Bin Laden is the commander of every terrorist ever.

This video is worthless.

So does Rush. That was the big thing on the radio on Friday.

And the over-repetitiveness about the whole beard deal.

Yeah, and yet he claims burning people is against his religion...

He makes no sense whatsoever.

We were discussing this in school, (Discussing politics is part of my school) and my teacher told us that the [US military-thing the name escapes me... is it called the Pentagon?] has stated that the guy in the video is the real Bin Laden.

Of course, the [Pentagon?] hasn't exactly done to well with the iraq war. Not sure I trust them.

Although the democrats rule two branches of our government, they can't do much about the war with the president in the way. The writers of our constitution gave the president a lot of power, in my opinion to much power. Also, the checks-and-balances system our government is based on only allows one branch to STOP another branch from doing something, they cannot actually MAKE another branch do something.

The president cannot declare war, Only congress can. But once war is declared, it's in the hands of the president. As long as the president is in office, he's the one in control of the war. The democrats can't do anything.

Democrats have no control because the President simply vetoes everything. This kind of thing has happened before. Also, we ended a war like this, Vietnam. All it takes is something really stupid to cause people to riot, and then the President shall stop.

As for Bin Laden, what he says is meaningless babble, and always has been. They're so splintered that I've heard of cases where terrorists fight terrorists. Indeed, the formation of a new HQ in the lawless Pakistan area is something to worry about, but naturally 'Operation: Save Iraq from itself" is too busy failing for us to do anything about that.

If I were Bush, I'd use the Soviet occupation of Afganistan for clues; I.E. give the Iraq government a "Tough, Save yourselves" speech and leave them to do so. If they were intended to exist, they'd be able to fight the terrorists. Otherwise? Let their own people fix it, it isn't our business to mess with them, just as much as it wasn't theirs to mess with ours.

As usual, we speak of politicans, a vile breed of American created to bend into many shapes to fit the voters, then go mad with power once they have it and make a hideous mess until another one is elected in their place. The sole saving grace is that the machine is programmed to discharge such people before they can turn a little 8-year thing into a 20-year dynasty.

These issues are largely moot, with our problems at home, but nobody cares about those anymore, so I think sooner or later I'll be moving out of this country. Rather escape before the economy is destroyed by monopolies/cartels, medicare explodes, taxes skyrocket from poorly controlled Social Security legislation, and the rich-poor gap becomes unbearable. It's just dumb, stupid. We need to unite if we are to live as a superpower--otherwise we're no better than the factionalist extremists we claim to protect the world from.

1) Two branches of government? I believe the Republicans hold the Executive Branch, the Democrats hold the Legislative, and the Supreme Court is theoretically non-partisan but has a conservative-leaning majority... Is there some sort of fourth branch I've never heard of?

2) True enough, but no technical "declaration of war" has been passed since WW2.

There's technically three, but political specialists consider the bureaucracy as some sort of "fourth branch", if only for their sheer influence.
