Polygon model importer, how soon do you want it?
Please vote or be transformed into Walluigi!

TT64 can't import OBJs currently, Messiaen's own importer seems to have passed it up in that department instead. That's in another topic about object importing.

.6 should have the importer, but VL_Tone has no time to finish it as of yet, and has been fighting some bugs.

Is that the importer that replaces Flatworld?

Please don't comment on that, Zero One, or else you're going to be posting a LOT.

It'd be better off if the rulebreakers ceased to exist.

I have a question about this tool.

On the relase (or later), there will be an object model importer?
For example, import custom pieces for Mario sprite. Well, i know the limitations, but i could fend.

I don't think it's supposed to be fun. Unless Metal Man feels a thrill each time he quenches (I hope I spelled that right) an idiot.

I don't think VL-Tone is quite there yet. Although we COULD...it'll have to start from manual hex hacking though. Who's up for that?

To VL-Tone's last post in mid April, (its now pushing July) A buggy pre-alpha version would be fine to release on just the forum. Lucky Messiaen got it first but he can only test on one operating system. I have two (yay me) and everyone else can encounter a ton of different errors and help you have a place to start up again from. The forum is here for a reason and so for that your never alone in working on it.
I've kind of given up on hacking and finding new info since Messiaen kind of took the lead in it and I got lost in his explanations of how to do what I thought should've been simple to me. I'd pick it up though to go and help you out with bugs and I'm sure most of the people in the forum would to.
If anything you can just PM specific users that you want to test it out (Messaien who already got a test version, Rstewart, Cellar Dwellar, Me :] ) Im not sure if some of these users are still around or not since I just lurk around once in awhile now but these were some of the more active users in the past who surpassed other users in different aspects of hacking Mario 64. (Not me but I'd love to bug test) If you want info on my operating system and bug info you can PM me or post here. Anyway I hope you still continue working on it if you need help finding issues the forum posters are here.

Eh, then idiots would be whining about how the beta version messed up and ate their hack. You might be willing to test it, but there's always someone else who'd download it thinking 'beta' was meant in the 'Google' sense and then get all dumb and furious over it.

Odds are it'll be a while until VL Tone can release anything more, so we'll just have to wait and see. On the other hand, Messiaen's importer should tide us over until then.

Also, I doubt the new TT64 will magically deal with issues with editing Mario, as those issues are... pretty deeply encoded in the game itself, since as we've discussed he's not a skeletal model but some weird set of pieces with a certain geometry that is always expected.

What do you mean by that? You mean Google's "beta" content isn't broken as hell?

My character would actually fit with my project in my mind, no need to modify the skeleton (iirc VLTone said that Mario model has a skeleton)
But, yes, we cannot expect a complete featured TT64, i even don't think VL tone is working on that so often, and we have even to understand him: there is not only "SM64" or "internet" in the world, but a lotsa issues in real life.
For example, those latest days, relating real life, were painful and agitated.

(1) Is thier any point to this thread at the moment? It used to be is a place where VL-tone post info and answer questions on the new TT64. It just feels like at the moment their is no longer any use while he is inactive.

(2) Is thier any new features that TT64 0.6 will have that we can not do with what we have allready?

For the time being this thread has a point, mostly people posting questions and we just have to wait until they answer.

But if I see more junk in here I WILL just delete it so VL Tone can actually see the questions.

I just noticed it had been two years since Vl-Tone posted that. I wonder how's he doing with his job and all, we haven't had any updates from him in quite a while.
