So, I fucking love amusement parks. Let's talk about them!

Walt Disney World!

The Disney parks in Florida (Have not been to Disney land) are pretty damn cool. A little expensive if you live outside of the state, but hell, you get what you pay for. Being an Ex-Coordinator at the parks, I can say it's impossible to experience all of the parks in a week. It takes a week alone to experience one park to it's fullest (Seeing all of the events, riding all the rides, food, etc)

So, here is my little tidbit of info as well as my personal thoughts about each park:

The Magic Kingdom

First off: You are not missing much going to this park. Personally, this is more of a family theme park more than your typical adrenaline fill park. It does however have a lot of neat events and a ride or two that might tickle your fancy. Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion are my favorite rides at the park. At the end of the day; the event "Wishes" is pretty awesome. During holidays it's even better. For Halloween, they have that theme, New Years the entire park will play current music instead of what you hear in the different themes of the park (I was shocked coming into work on Newyears eve and hearing "Baby Got Back" blaring in Frontierland)

If you never experienced The Magic Kingdom ever in your life. It's worth a shot going. But it's best experienced with Kids over the age of 8-12.

Epcot

Now Epcot is one of my favorite parks to go to. Why? Well, you can drink alcohol at the parks. And during the fall they have "The around the world Challenge". Drink a shot in each section in the park, and if you can make it without passing out, your drinks are free. Also, Epcot has a lot of neat things you can purchase. Japan has anime, Paris has a lot of paris things, and so on. Also, the rides they have there are pretty neat. Test Drive will make you shit your pants the first time you get on it.

I highly recommend Epcot.

Animal Kingdom

The Animal Kingdom is more like the "Zoo" of Disney. It's pretty awesome to check out some of the animals there. Some even have petting areas (I pet a Fox one time. It was neat!), and others you can ride around in a jeep to check out the motherfucking king of the jungle! Some of the rides there are pretty good, and there is one certain 3D show that everyone has to check out! (I believe it's A Bug's life. Not sure)

Recommend Animal Kingdom if you like animals. And you want something different.

Disney's MGM Studios

Now here is the real meat and potatoes. MGM studious is one of the best parks to go to. Notice how I put "Disney" in front of this park, it is not to be mistaken with the other MGM Studious. In this park you have a lot of neat things going on here, and celeberties marching around in this park just about every day (Met Drew Carry, Shaq O'neil, Gilbert Godfried, Regis Phillman, Cast of All My Children, etc). Rides include Tower of Terror, and Aerosmith's Rock N' Rollercoaster. Also, you can purchase alcohol here as well.

Highly recommend Disney's MGM Studious

Disney's Pleasure Island / Downtown Disney

Where kids play in parks. The adults come here to drink and party. There are several clubs, shopping centers, comedy locations, and high dine-in resturants. One of my favorite places to go to was "Disney's Adventure Quest". A five foot tall arcade that had just about everything. The top floor back in 2004 had high-end gaming computers, and each floor below had their own different branch of arcades. Pay your admission fee, and never have to put in a quarter to play the arcades. They even had Virtural Reality. Unfortunately, it's closed down.

There was also the Laughing Floor Comedy Club, which is also closed down. It was like Whose line, except seriously vulgar. Yes, at Disney no less! You hear the improv artists talk some raunchy shit to you, and had some better games from the show "Whose Line is it anyway".

But those do not tickle you? Then there are clubs that will. 80's music club, Death Metal club, Gay Club? You name it, Pleasure island has it.

Ultra recommendation on this area alone. It's good for us adults to kick back and party.

What is your favorite amusement park?

(Also, I will get into Six Flags later. I plan on going there this year with some of my friends. Gonna bring a camera)

Around here, the major theme park is Six Flags Great Escape, which is known for the wooden roller coaster The Comet, the Steamin' Demon, and the Boomerang...

I first went to this park in 1993, back before Six Flags took it over... haven't been there since 2008, though. =/

I went to Legoland in Germany, largely because I realized that I was in the nearest decent-sized city to a Legoland They're more kid-friendly rides which may turn some people off, but I enjoyed it, and they also have Lego models based on many European cities and various Lego sets and whatnot for sale.

I can honestly say that I have been to Disney World more than any of you. My biological father (my mom remarried) used to work for Disney. Back when I was age 3-8 we would go all the time. I remember for a while (so I was probably 6 since I can remember it) we would go almost every week, at least 3 times a month for the entire year. It was great, for me and my next oldest brother. Soon there after, the Animal Kingdom opened and it was even better. My favorite was the Magic Kingdom, it had the most stuff for me at the time.

Now, I love coaster parks. We actually just went to Knott's Berry Farm this past weekend. It was ok, not the best park in the world but worth a visit and maybe a revisit some time. I went on most of the rides but none of them were outstanding enough to ride again immediately. We'll have to go back to ride the rest of them. I did like their hanging ride, "The Silver Bullet" and their speed one called "Xcelerator". It was drag racing themed

I've been to Six Flags: Magic Mountain in Cali also. Its a really cool park. I haven't been since the last 2 rides opened, but they have a ride called X that is insane. The seats spin while your going through the ride so sometimes you're facing straight down and others your facing straight up but the track is the same direction.

Also, I love Universal Studios Orlando - Islands of Adventure. That place rocks, especially the "Dueling Dragons". It's two hanging coasters that run in tandem. They do loops and stuff together, then barrel roll at each other, and then head on and veer up at the last second. Now I'll have to go back for Hoggwarts thats opening soon!

There's...not really much except for maybe Funtown/Splashtown down waaaaaaay south from me in Saco. New Hampshire's got all the really spiffy theme parks all over, like Santa's Village, Storyland, etc.

I've never been to Disney World or any of those kinds of popular places. My family could never, ever, ever afford such a trip.

Oh, really?

Try working there and going to the parks with friends on days off.

For a full year. Two times a week.

Hah, need more proof? I will be happy to share. I used to be a coordinator. And I still uphold my Blue pass: meaning I can go to the parks for free. Until the day I die.

E- The edit in the ID posted above was because I signed a contract to not show it. At the time, it would mean anyone who has that number (Blanked out) that can get in for free and would share my name.

Even at my current job: Olive Garden. I still uphold goofy. Got to have fun while at work.

I'm going to Cedar Point in Ohio with my school this friday. I'm not much of a coaster fan though, but I'll probably will myself to go on a few.

And be utterly terrified.

Go on Top Thrill Dragster!

Anyway, I've been to Disney world once when I was 10 as part of a family vacation. I've been wanting to go back ever since so I can fully appreciate it.

In the meantime, I've visited the crap out of Cedar Point. My sister and I try to go there at least once a year. However, by now I think I've kind of outgrown the place. I mean, the roller coasters are great, but I've rode them all so many times that the wait in line just doesn't seem worth it anymore. It's like Cedar Point has lost its magic for me. Sad really

Nice, I didn't see that part about you being a coordinator. How long did you work there?

I can remember going all the time when I was little and before my parents split, we lived about 15 minutes from the parks. That was back in 86-89. My mom has pictures of me in a stroller from many of the times we went. After they split, we would go visit my father about 2 times a month and it slowed down, but there was that one year we went almost every week. That was fun, especially being so young and never getting bored with any of it. We always rode Splash Mountain since I was too small for Space Mountain But I got to go on it a few years later.

I'm *too tall* to get on at least half of the roller coasters there now. It's sad. I've been there maybe five times and now I can't really go there again because I'd have to sit out most of the time. The roller coasters really are great, though. Last year though we ended up going on the hottest day of the year and the temperature in the park was like 96, and also really sunny, so it was not much fun at all. Everyone in the park was spending time in the arcades. We also ended up waiting nearly 2 hours to go on the Raptor only to have it be shut down right as we were getting to it. And the line for the Maverick was estimated at four hours so we didn't go on it even once! I've ridden it before but geez. They need fast passes or something like they have at Disney World. >.<

After going every other year, for the past 8 years to Disney World, I can honestly say that I've still not yet conquered the Disney landscape.) One week is not enough to enjoy everything, even if you plan on going back again thinking it might (It isn't; trust me.)

Out of all the parks, Epcot and Magic Kingdom really take the cake with fireworks displays and lazer-lighting awesomeness at the end of the day, and if you haven't seen either of those yet (or haven't even been to the parks,) go nao while you still can! It will be worth the cost.

On of my favourite amusement parks is Canada's Wonderland. Sure it doesn't have any special characters like Disney World and the rides might not be as great like those at Universal Studios but this place will still always be special to me. I've been here over 100 times in my life, my family used to always buy a season pass there, one summer we went there on 44 different days . I'll be going there again with my high school this Friday night, it's going to be open for all of the grade 12s who are going to be graduating from various schools around Canada (and even a few in the US too, I think). It's going to be fun to go back and I'm looking forward to it .

I'll be honest. I'm not the amusement park type of person. In fact, roller coasters seem to bring some fear in me, but I end up enjoying them anyway. Regardless, Six Flags Great America has awesome rides, and the only coasters I haven't gone on were Batman: The Ride, V2, and Ragin' Cajun. Everything else I have been on. I've been there at least three times, the first back when I was 7, and two or three times in the past several years.

Ironically, it seems that the only non-stupid fatality on any of those rides was Spacely's Sprocket Rockets. :|

I remember Disney World. We went almost every summer, right when it was the most uncomfortable time, heat-wise

We had a blast anyway. Our favorite park would have to be Magic Kingdom, because a good number of rides are concentrated there. Animal Kingdom is more like a petting zoo, although it has some pretty epic rides as well (Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids). Epcot is almost... educational... at times. It has lots of indoor things, and some shows. We watched Chinese acrobats in "China," a candy artist demonstration in "Japan," and an acting troupe in "Italy" perform one of the most hilarious, butchered renditions of Romeo and Juliet I've ever seen An indoor shop (read: air conditioned) is always nearby. It's normally selling overpriced merchandise, but hey, they have to pay for that wonderful, freezing air somehow Epcot also has a few cool rides: Mission Space, Soarin', and Test Track. The lines for these tend to be a bit ridiculous, though The final park, MGM Studios, has a zillion awesome shows. Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Star Tours (kinda a ride, but w/e), Studio Backlot Tour, (also kinda a ride), and especially Lights Motors Action are things we've gone to again and again. It also has Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster, both of which are top-tier rides.

There's water parks too, but we don't usually go to those.

Some of the hotels are almost parks of their own. The Beach Club has an epic pool that's essentially a miniature water park. The Boardwalk has carnival games, fried dough, magicians, stuntmen, etc (mini carnival). The Animal Kingdom Lodge has a freaking "wildlife preserve" attached to it (mini zoo).
... Haven't stayed at any of the other hotels (and/or there isn't anything freaky-awesome about them), but yeah.

Disney was always fun for us.

Someone told me there was a special pass to get into the parks very early in the morning, when practically no one went (I can't confirm this though.)

I couple years ago I went to whatever big waterpark they had. It's a lot of fun; a bunch of slides and what not . Of course when I went the entire park had to be shut down, someone had a heart-attack in the wave pool and nearly drowned .

If you want to avoid the lines, especially at Disney and Universal, go during off season.

Hubby and I went to Islands of Adventure the day after Halloween Horror Nights and there was no line. We went on Hulk so many times.

I really want to get a Florida pass and I wish I could go more often.

Mission Space, I got sick on. Didn't throw up but I got terrible motion sickness from it.

Soarin' as well, but not as bad and that ride is pretty neat.

Haven't tried Test Track yet since it was being built the last time I was there.

The best thing we have locally is Six Flags Saint Louis. Not too bad really, but you can definitely explore the place in a day. :/

I've also been to Universal Islands of Adventure, but Disneyworld only once, when I was a toddler.

What I've always felt would be *great* would be if Nintendo stepped up to it. Statistically speaking, Mario is more well known than Mickey Mouse. Imagine if the Mushroom Kingdom was defictionalized into a theme park as big as Disney World. The different parks could even be "worlds"! A fire board, an ice board, a grass board... Yoshi's Island...

THAT would be AWESOME!

If they did it right, obviously. No shortcuts please, make it legit!
