This past weekend my family went to Knott's Berry Farm. We had a good time, took the 2 babies with my parents and loaded into a van. Its only about 3.5 hours from Las Vegas. Stayed the night Saturday and went to the park on Sunday. We tried to see a movie Saturday night but that is in an interesting story. Things like this make stuff more memorable.

So we tried to make the 8pm showing of Iron Man 2. Figured it was already out for 4 weeks and shouldn't be too crowded if we got there just in time instead of early like we normally do. Well, the 8pm showing was sold out This place had 26 theaters and at least 6 we're still showing Iron Man 2... sold out? Wow.

So we get tickets for the 9pm showing and we'll just wait it out. The theaters are in the middle of some shops so we walk around for a little bit, get some ice cream and then head back in to wait for the movie. We wait 30 minutes and then the previews start.

After the first 3... the fire alarm starts going off. A recording says, "An emergency has been reported in this vicinity, please had to the nearest exits." I figure its just a false alarm but everyone is heading out. We stay anyway (so did other people) and find out that it was just a false alarm. So everyone comes back in and we wait about 15 minutes. Then this kid who looks like he's 10 comes in and has the theater's shirt and stuff on, telling us, "They don't know when the projectors will be back on but we can wait or get a refund."

So we head out since its already late and we have to get up for the park the next day. When we get out to the lobby, it is a swarm of people. There were at least 1,000 people in it already and we get in line. After about 15 minutes we're only halfway through the line when everyone else starts coming out of the theaters. They had to clear them after all and everyone was being sent home.

So the lobby now has well over 2,000 people trying to get money back or a ticket voucher. Then people start crowding around and almost all semblance of a line is gone... We tried to keep our place but eventually 2 groups of teens ended up in front of us. Well, there came a part where there was a pillar in the line, so my dad goes around the pillar and ends up back in front of the 2 groups that got in front of us.

So yeah, that was the highlight of the weekend. Not really, but it makes it memorable.

The park was great, we went on about 5 coasters and 2 short rides for my oldest son (he's only 18 months) then ended up going to get lunch. We were all tired so we decided to head home.

Looks like I can get $5 dollar Florida Marlin tickets. Might head to a game this Saturday.

Sitting at front of my computer and doing nothing.

For some reason all of the shops in town are closed on Sundays, even though a cafe that I usually go to for lunch and such says that they're supposed to be open from 9am - 4pm or something like that. Walking 45 minutes just to get something good to eat and then find out that almost all of the places around town (other than Sobeys, Greco, and Subway across the bridge) are closed sucks.
