I have heard that this is quite accurate. That's horrifying.

Daily Cycle II ~ 2788
I would like to note that, even though my entire family is Mormon while I am not, I figure it is safe to say that this is at least partially bullshit (I only read the description, I'm not willing to waste time in front of a video that should've just been text)

To that end, a far as I know, it's mostly plain Christianity with some extra baggage (Book of Mormon) attached.

I'm tempted to just argue that the Mormon religion is fractured in what is and isn't believed (like the billion spinoffs of Christianity)... there's a lot of stuff I've heard that I've never heard of anywhere in the actual church.

I remember the commercials that would air during ABC on Friday nights... write in or call or whatever to receive the Bible *and* the Book of Mormon. :O

It's quite the religion to read up on.

Organized Religion just needs to be controlled.

To be completely honest, and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of other computer/programmers/gamers/etc agree with me, I don't really care about religion.

Religion is mostly "you have to suffer, that's the meaning of life, and through suffering, you end up somehow winning in the end." I like how the Egyptians did it, where the point of your life was having a light heart (being happy). That's really what life should be about, in my opinion; being happy.

What I really don't like about (some) religion(s) is that they ignore and/or are against scientific advancement. It's like "we want to STAY ignorant" or something. Religion was developed because of ignorance toward the world/etc. I can't believe it's still so popular.

Well, science can prove the here, now, tangible, etc, and religion is there for everything else, like "what happens when you die" and "what's beyond the universe" and "when did the galaxy start?" and other such stuff that science really can't prove.

But sometimes it's taken too far.

Did you know that the person who animated that cartoon also did Heavy Metal: The Movie? I know this because of MGM studios. I saw this cartoon awhile back. (Plus I love the Heavy Metal comics and the movies)

Anyways, I have a Mormon Ex-friend whom I went to church with. Im a Baptist Christian myself and was happy to go to his. From what I understand, the Rapture is another bizzare story, according to the Mormons, they are supposed to be picked up by an Aircraft of sorts to be transported to another planet, leaving the ignorant (Christians and everyone else) to run in their own stupidity. Meanwhile the believers of Christ according to Christiandom, will just Vanish.

How come Im not longer friends with this guy? Mainly because he lied to me, and mormons do not lie, especially to me because I was his friend since I was 4.

Personally, it is rather bizzare to understand of that belief, and I agree that my beliefs along with others out there are quite as bizzare as Mormons.

Actually, this cartoon is surprisingly well animated. The motions look actually realistic, instead of that strange garbage motions that you get with other cartoons (for example, look at old cartoons made of DC superheros)

I saw a documentary about Mormons.

In specific, most religions have weird features, they just seem 'right' to those who've become innured to their weirdness. For example, looking at it from an outside way, why does Christianity have the symbol of the object which destroyed its main character as its symbol? That's like if I made a religion about a person who was shot and the symbol was a gun. It seems vaguely disrespectful to me.

And on and on and on. Mainly, I think science should venture into the places religion has tried to keep to itself and figure them out like everything else--religion is a necessary precondition to help begin civilization, but it becomes obsolete bit by bit as logic and science figure out the' truth' as opposed to the 'maybe.'

After all, if you ignore the warnings of physics, you'll die. Faith can't give you flight, counteract poisons, or cook meatloaf. Science, on the other hand... can. Ignore physics and it'll catch up to you sooner or later.

To Metal_Man,
The reason Christianity has a object that helped kill it's character has to do with the fact that the character was dying for man's sins, so the symbol would always remind people what he died for.
I kinda have the opinion religion doesn't just help a civilation grow in the beginning, but rather like so many people have said before: It gives some people a reason for living, and moving on, thereby helping everything work normally, I kinda think that Science can explain everything in this Universe, but not beyond it, as for Religion and Science, I think they are two different, and only vaguely related things, so it is kinda useless to get in a arguement over it, If Faith says this and Science says that, who cares?just like getting ina arguement over opinions.
Also as for my reply to the last part of the post above mine, you are correct, but I don't see it as a reason to think Faith is useless in this day and age, Faith more or less helps one function by instilling a sence of hope, and the idea of reward for being a good person.

btw, to KittyKev.
The only religions in my view that are against science and such are ones that have been corrupted by people who want power, and blind fanatics, they were not made in ignorance, but rather as a means of explaining why we exist and why Bobby who scams everyone just when't bankrupt.
