Hm... I switched from cable to DSL, and didn't notice any speed difference... though that's probably saying more about the crappiness of Comcast rather than anything on Verizon's part...

This just in: DSL and Cable both have similar peak levels (or, they're high enough to not matter), so the speed is just what your provider wants it to be.

Well, I'm probably going to be stuck on dial-up.

I just called Internode and the port at my Telephone Exchange is broken and they cannot get ADSL2+ connected. They are going to try to resubmit the request but I am guessing it is not going to work.

I am so fucking angry right now.

Using the speakeasy test, I got 2591/612... 1875/611 on the Speedtest.net site, both websites I used New York City as the server. (and I am in Boston, or near it anyways)

No kidding? That explains my lag on a lot of things like Skype and Sauerbraten recently.

It was 23kb/s. Now it isn't. I don't get it. Possibly a fault with the ISP if anything.
