Warning: Long, overly rambly post ahead~!
I have two ridiculous and adorable cats, named Rainey and Abby. Rainey's the black one, Abby's the tortoiseshell. :3

I have so, so many pictures of the two of them, so I'm going to link, instead of post full pictures. I'd like people to still be able to load this thread. I won't even link them all, since I could be here all night if I do...
Rainey:
We've had her since 2006, so I she's about 4 years old now. We were on vacation in Virginia, and were silly enough to walk into a PetsMart while we were waiting for someone. In some ways, I feel kind of silly for adopting a cat a couple of states away from home, but I can't regret it. I love the silly little magpie. She loves shiny things (thus my "Magpie"), and sleeping on me. She's a sweetheart, but not much of a cuddly creature. She does a lot of goofy things, but I'm pretty sure she thinks we're pretty goofy, too. :p She's very playful, but she likes sleeping a lot. I find her sleeping in the strangest places. She plays 'tag' with me, kind of. I'll chase after her, and pet her, and then walk away, and she'll run after me and paw at my ankles, and then turn around and run away. 'Tis adorable, but not the kind of thing you can get pictures of. Cats in motion are hard to catch with a crummy camera. But, she sits still long enough while doing silly things to give you a general idea. :3
It's funny, now, to think that she was ever this small... She was such a tiny kitten, but is now a very long, sleek cat. :3
Trying to hide? Not working so well, dear.
Not sure what to make of the Christmas tree the first year..
Her favourite place to sleep...
Although this was too, for a short while. She adores that blanket.
Sleepy~
Just stretching, but looks very regal and such...
.. until she yawned.
I used to get some weird eye reflections from using flash. I stopped using it once I knew better. :p
Sleepin' on my jewelry workspace. She likes to keep me company while I'm working.
Although I'm not too sure how she feels about the constant picture taking.. :p
The size difference between the two cats is cute. Rainey's very long and skinny, with short fur, and Abby's very stout, with short little front legs, and medium-length fur that makes her look even bigger than she is. She's actually a small cat, but when Rainey curls up, she looks smaller. So, it was interesting to get these two pictures, where they're both going after a bug, and taking turns checking out the top of the window.
Rainey..
.. and Abby. Abby can barely reach the top of the window. She was displeased. heheh.
Abby:
We got Abby from a shelter in 2009. She's two years old now. I was there with my mother-in-law when she went to pick up her new cat (Steel), and just loved this cat. It was adorable, because she would ignore you entirely if you were in the "we're just looking" area, but when you were around to the "I think I might want to adopt" area, she warmed right up. Almost as if you just weren't worth her time if you weren't serious about taking her home. heheh. I was sad, because I knew I couldn't adopt her, with having 4 cats in the house already, and one being very sick, so I tried not to get too attached. Then we got Steel home, and he and Rainey did not get along (at all.. as in, Rainey wouldn't even eat), and we decided to keep Rainey in our apartment all of the time, instead of bringing her back and forth from house to apartment. She's a very social cat, though, so we thought maybe we should consider getting another one. I remembered Abby from the shelter, and my spouse and I went to see her again. Obviously, she came home with us. :p
She settled in pretty quickly, although Rainey wasn't quite sure what to make of her at first. Her initial reaction was kind of like "what, another one? Don't you remember what happened with that last little upstart?" .. but she slowly decided she liked Abby, but wasn't sure she liked us anymore. ("You horrible people, this was my house." She would come and sleep on me, but as soon as I woke up, or tried to pet her, she was off like a shot. "I'm just here for the warm body, lady. Don't get any ideas!") It made me sad, until she got over that. I was worried that we'd ruined our happy little cat. :< But! Now she's fine and happy again, and they get along really well. ^^
Abby is weird, and very smart. She loves nomming on plastic, and anything that crinkles. She uses her thumbs (yep, she has thumbs) to pick things up. She remembers where we leave the laser pointer (we put it in different places every time), and will go to it, and poke it when she's bored. She knows where the light comes from, knows that if you send it around an object, she can wait on the other side to catch it instead of running after it, and knows that if it disappears, it's because her humans have gotten tired of holding down a stupid button, and comes and pokes us and meows until we play with her again. She complains if she's displeased with something ("Excuse me, but there's a food bit in my water bowl!" or "The litter has things in it. Gross.") .. she will meow, and then lead us to the problem once she has our attention. She's very cute. :3 She's the most vocal cat I've ever met. I wish I had a video camera for this cat, because she is a constant source of amusement. Of course, I'm a bit biased.
When we first got her.
Showing off her ear tufts and thumbs.
Bellbottom feets. :3
Disgruntled kitty. :o
Pretty. ^^
Long whiskers~
She likes being tucked in. She loves pillows, and will usually arrange herself so that her head is on a pillow and she's under the blankets. I just don't have a picture of that.
She likes climbing under the blankets entirely, too. Cave kitty~! That grey thing is my pant leg. I pulled back the blankets to take the picture, which is why she looks so grumpy. :p
She also likes sleeping on her back. (Not the best picture- was taken with a phone. I woke her up by trying to take the picture. )
I'm never really sure what kind of picture I'm going to get, with her. She moves a lot, so sometimes I just click and hope it comes out okay. heheh.
A pretty example..
.. And a funny one. I'm not sure if she was startled there, or what, but I saw that picture later, and just cracked up.
This is the cat who usually hops up on my desk, and stomps on my keyboard. So, several of you have seen her saying "hi" in IRC. :p
Also, here's Steel, for good measure.
Alright, this post is .. rather massive, so! tl;dr: I have cute cats that I can (and have) ramble(d) about for hours. :3
Edit: And I'm too lazy to fix the broken image links right now, sorry! May get around to it eventually. D:
