If I'm spitting in public, it almost certainly means that I just left a dentist's office and there's all this stuff in my mouth from the cleanings.

As a kid I had a quirk of spitting into dust particles (I was a peculiar child), but now I think spitting in public is rather gross.

I'm guilty. Very guilty of doing this. Every morning I wake up with what southerners call "Catshit" stuck in my mouth. It's in large clumps and it's deep in my throat. It has to go. Not to mention I have to drink about three ice cold glasses of water.

Now, spitting in public. I rarely do this. I really need to get rid of that bad habit.

One of my mates had some health condition problem so gets way to much of that stuff so he have to spit it out quite often, if not he will get problems with something. (I think it was breathing, but I don't exactly remember.)

But, yeah, most people don't have an excuse and one should really not do it unless you need to. :/

If I need to spit into something and I have a tissue or a napkin with me, I will spit into that and only that, otherwise I just gulp instead of spit, and spitting in public is indeed gross. But then again, rarely any person spits in the town I live in, either that or I just never see it happen, but I'm glad that I don't really have to watch somebody spitting though.

	I don't see people spitting in the public often, but you can clearly see when someone spitted on the floor. Eww. I think sticking chewing gums on tables and corners is worse, though. Awful. ____________________

For me, it's usually just shit I need to get out of my body. I can not swallow anything I cough up (be it due to a cold or whatever) and I don't usually have tissues with me in easy reach. I never do it just to do it, however (which, I'm assuming, people around Drag do, seeing as when I have to do it... it never makes that much noise).

I don't understand it. I think they need to drink more water. A good supply(2 liters) keeps your breath pretty fresh and free of spit. I mean I've noticed the only times I've really had to spit have been after running when my mouth tastes like a salt bed.

I don't spit as much as I used to. These day, I've noticed, when I have to spit, it's because of my breathing/asthma and because I'm working out too hard.

God I can't stand when people have to bring up loogies and stuff, it sounds so gross. Spitting I don't find that bad, but making a ton of noise or a whole scene about it is just ridiculous.

If my throat is a bit packed, which doesn't happen often, I just induce a few coughs. It takes a bit longer but doesn't sound fucking nasty and probably doesn't irritate my throat as much as those horrible noises some people make.

I honestly have a problem with this reason. I've ... never actually understood the "appeal" even.

Granted, I actually rarely see it for what seems like such a reason anymore, but it was rampant in middle school.

The only time that I get the urge to spit in public is when I breathe in a whole bunch of second-hand smoke

. Even if it doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth I still feel the need to spit for some reason...

This. I'm sorry, but if I'm at the dentist's... spitting may be involved on the walk home. It *WILL* be involved if I had my mouth frozen because the spit from that is soooooo thick...

	I tend to spit if I've coughed up phlegm or whatever... but that's always into the sink or a tissue. I don't normally spit in public, but if there's too much saliva in my mouth that I cannot swallow, I would spit it out, but when nobody's around. (I don't know if that has to do with the fact that the roof of my mouth is higher than normal.)
