Hm... so I assume that the ID# would change from thread to thread? (As otherwise people would just say "Oh, that's #999999" rather than "Oh, that's Imajin")

Complete anonyminity is worthless. You need to be able to know if you're at least tlaking to the real replier, or else compete confusion could erupt.

But seriously, that's not a bad idea at all. I generally stay out of Officer's and Adult Discussion myself, but I can see how it could be beneficial.

Sounds fine to me. Something like this would be great, anyway. Although you might be able to recognize someone just by their typing/reply style in some cases, but I wouldn't worry about that.

Chances are, most people won't notice, and if a person really wants to be discreet, he/she can simply change his/her typing style. I don't think complete anonymity is what we're going for at all.

It could end up being quite difficult to ensure there's no way to tell who made a post. As I mentioned, there's Show Posts, and of course Last Post, post count, view threads by this user/by forum/etc, the thread being moved, Tina, and so on.

I think it's a good idea as a new forum, but not for a Adult / Femine style forum. There can be enough ignorance in there at times without giving free reign for a scattergun of opinion.
