Ok many of us have allready started creating new OBJ levels from sratch. But how many of us have only created 1 or 2 levels that you can actually see fitting into SM64? Why don't focus our time on creating a level worthy of the Mario name and combined our creative genius to create a hack that even Shigeru Miyamoto would be proud of!

Now onto my hack, Mario 64 was seen as a reverlutionry game so much so that many games for the N64 soon followed suit and we seen limitless 3d platfomers for the console.

Because we have to walk before we run, Vinnyboiler. To try and do something absurdly complex like you suggest without knowing how is idiocy.

And you never really get to saying what your hack is. What's up with that?

Sorry when using my PSP i'm only allowed to write 255 charaters per text. My hack will involve mario doing side tasks from other games to be able to fight master hand at the end of the game.
The reason I suggested a team hack is to stop people getting ahead of theamselfs and creating lots of levels that may lower the quality of their hacks once the new TT64 comes out. In term of creating OBJ's and testing them out using Messean's importer.

Unfortunately, it's hard to produce interesting low-polygon 3D content for the Nintendo 64. I would love to do another complete hack, even if it's only 4 or 5 levels, however I'm somewhat pessimist when it comes to finding interested 3D modellers. So far I haven't seen anything interesting being produced, either for Mario or Zelda 64 .

Hi, this is my first mod! I love what you guys are doing here, can't wait for the next version of toads tool 64!

Master Hand's Bedroom (Replaces Bob-Omb Battlefield...........Obviously!) Ver: 0.1

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=26U3K9EJ

1. Extract everything from zip file
2. Open PPF-O-Matic and apply the patch to an EXTENDED ROM!
3. Start emulator and enjoy!

- all stars work (last star needs wing cap)

- the level is from the start of super smash bros, the bedroom where you see the hand pick up the characters and put them on the table.

- the zip file includes a patch maker and patch applyer, so you can make your own patches!

- for some reason, the latest plugin for model extraction of N64 games, lemmy's plugin, crashes on both the 1964 emulator and the Nemu64 emulator (well for me it crashes anyway!). So i had to use an older version of the plugin that doesnt support textures. there are textures though, just not the right colours and stuff. if anyone knows how to stop the crashing of the latest plugin, please let me know!

Video of me showing the 6 acts of the level
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hssCjlmiq2A
Enjoy!

My hack's name is: New Super Mario 64
It's features are:

- 131 stars
- New (better) textures
- New level: Block Fort
- Propeller Cap, instead of Wing Cap (I need help!)
- Yellow Box switch (I need help!)
- New musics ported from NSMB (I need help!)

Screenshots:

Block Fort screenshots:

So, someone can help me with textures for Block Fort, inserting musics, hacking Propeller Cap and Yellow Switch?

Not to be mean or anything, but in all those screenshots the only thing you changed is the floor in the castle.
Maybe you should change more textures?
Still, good luck with your hack

You need to take a look at the high-res screenshots, he added more detail to many textures and improved their overall look
Anyway, looks kind of strange since there are still some low-res/blurred textures, but it gives the game an interesting look. Good luck with the other stuff

If you're making an actual hack, then you need to replace those textures in TT64, not just making a texture pack.

And yeah, you'll need more than textures for a complete hack.

I've hacked more textures, but my current graphics plugin makes some of they totally transparent.

I'm replacing the textures using Tile Molester, and TT64

BTW Mr. Game, where in tile molester is the Super Mario 64 background (the blue background at the mario head menu) located? I can't seem to find it...

You can find it at 00B113EC, but first try to import it to a test rom, because sometimes the imported image can be corrupted, and on the 2nd rom playing some objects (Mario Start head, trees, etc) can mess up on the screen.

I think you need to be more specific in what you want us to do, do you want the propeller from the Fly Guys on top of Mario's Wing Cap?And if so then you need to change Mario's flying animation unless you want it looking weird, I can't do this stuff yet but I can help you with the Block Fort textures do you wan't them the same as Mario Kart Double Dash?

If someone can change the graphics of the wing cap to have a propeller on it and also make the wing cap not actually do anything when Mario triple jumps, then making Mario act like he's landed on one of those enemies that makes him fly into the air and spin when he does after performing a certain action (like triple jumping or somersault jumping (whatever it's called when you quickly change directions while running and jump at the same time)) should be fitting enough for a "Propeller Cap".

messiaen could probably do most of that with what he knows already.

The real question is "Why should any of us do that for you?"

I assume this is enough change to warrant a new post. I've edited the main Menu buttons and backgrounds, made the Bowser and Peach portraits, retextured Jolly Roger's Bay, and changed the Bowser Bomb Explosion effect. I missed 2 small textures in JRB, but I also did some textures in DDD due to them sharing a texture bank. Speaking of texture banks, A bit of SSL, THI, and WDW were edited along with BBF and WF.

Download the patch here or from the link in the video. Apply as you would any other patch and enjoy. And if you notice any textures I missed in the first 3 levels, please comment about it in the video.

I plan to fix any errors in the past levels, finish as much as possible of Cool Cool Mouantin, and edit the Yoshi Egg texture which is currently being done.
Probably the last patch until the next version of Toad's Tool.

And I'm not sure if anyone would know how to do this if it is even possible, but I made all the missing letters for the Colored font:

Would it be possible to put them in the Rom to give a full set of English letters to use in the game?

Did I hear 'low-polygon 3D content'?

It's OOT, but I can do SM64 style just as easily :3 Give me the tools to import, and I'll build.

You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
