I dont think so...
You place them manually, but the game only renders them if you're near them, to save processing power.

I'm not sure, they look more Water textures, which they are used ingame.
No, i'm sure, they are not beta.
The first one is the normal water you see everywhere.
The second one is the "Jolly Roger Bay" water (also used in underground castle)
The last one i acutally don't remember. You may talk about the third one, though.

What Underwater sand? I'd like to see this. These are the water textures. The first is every where but JRB and the second is JRB. The last one I'm not sure of.

I think the 3rd one is the look of the water from when your underwater. Ie: When your above Jolly roger bay you get the 2nd texture when your under you get the 3rd. When your above castle grounds water you get the 1st and when your below you get the 3rd. Nice trick to save RAM/Rom Space.

Strange, when I tried that a while ago it actually had a deactivated yellow switch, but the yellow ! box wasn't blanked out. If i recall correctly, stepping on the switch gave me one of the "you have recovered another power star..." type messages then asked me to save.

Do what this thread says or simply use the Level Importer and select the Cap Switches bank.

It's probably called "unknown", but I'm not even sure if it is rendered correctly by Toad's Tool. Plus its behavior does nothing, as you should be aware.

Interesting...Maybe the yellow swith was for one of the 3 uses of the yellow blocks(Lives, coins, koopa shell)
Maybe because they aren't needed they did not include the yellow block switch(Saying block saying it has no cap until we find one)
BUT,this does seem to have some sort of use(Home Made Cap Block?)

I think this ROM got hacked. The yellow cap switch actually doesn't do anything. I think you modified something to it. (via C, ASM or something else)

This thread is very old, and at this point it's fairly clear there is no ACTUAL new "Beta Stuff" likely left for us to look at.

I'm going to lock this, and MarioGame2222, don't be bumping old threads like this again.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
