Works best in standards-compliant browsers, should look fine elsewhere too. Reference image. Your screen width may vary.

(I finally found a solution to my background alignment problem! )

Only trouble is, in short posts it doesn't occupy 100% height, because adding that for some reason caused the post cell not to expand, cutting off the text. Even though it works in the test file. I'm also thinking about adding a border of some sort.

I think I liked your old layout better. :<
The suggestive image did blend in better in that one.

Having some sort of box with some type of transparent background would make it look a bit better though.

Yeah where did that padding get to?
It might look better if the image were blended, but since Imageshack likes to break blended PNGs, and this one is not left-aligned to allow for background overlapping, I'd have to use CSS opacity, and apparently a certain administrator can't imagine there ever being a legitimate use for it.
Box might be good as well...

but the more I look at it, the more it looks like everyone else's... not having a box was one of the major differences. hmmm

I agree with Gunstar Green, the girl looks nice (except his fingers, I don't know, they're just odd for me ), but can be embarrassing for some people at some places...however, in these days I wouldn't be surprised by anything, but meh.
Other than that, your layout is perfect in my opinion! I wish I could make a layout like this.
