My dad really wanted me to work for the US Army back in 2007. It got to the point where he said that I deserve to die if I don't get a military job

Me, I'm not military material. I don't like war and, although I recognize the need for a nominal defence force, I have no desire to be a part of one.

I would have joined, but they won't let me in due to my asthma (which is a lot better now).

I don't mean that people who do not join the military do not have balls. I just have respect for those who join, that is what I meant. I am sorry that my term of "balls" meant that the rest of us are pussies.

Before 1993 (?) it was illegal to be gay and in the army, the army had the right to question your sexuality and do whatever it could to find out if you're gay or not if it had suspicions. Then Clinton attempted to repeal the law but congress couldn't pass a repeal, a compromise was "Don't Ask Don't Tell" which states that the army shall not question anyone's sexuality as long as those in the army keep it a secret. "They don't ask, you don't tell."
