Pre-shoveling(~10:00AM) :

Post-shoveling (~3:00PM) :

So yeah, our snowplow broke and so we had to resort to shoveling ourselves out. Took 5 hours but we're done. (Until the snowplow returns and blocks us in again... )

You need more fat people in your town. Fat people cause global warming. And with so many fat people in one area, the snow will melt rapidly.

Wow, the only thing that we got here out of this nor'easter is the leftover wind -- not one flake fell during the whole time it was cloudy. However, I hear we're getting some snow on Wednesday and possibly Christmas Day as well.

Five hours of shoveling!?

I usually hate it when I have to shovel for one hour, I don't know what I would do if I had to spend five hours doing it .

We had one heavy snow fall this year although unfortuneately it wasn't bad enough to cancel school for the day. I'm just praying that no bad snow storms decide to show up during the Christmas break .

Oh man you bet it was. You know they're still plowing? The streets are more or less clear, but they're still pushing the plows around since the now is falling into the street. It's still crazy. D:

Crazy that they had to push a lot of the 1pm football games to 4pm because of the snow.

I actaully got trapped at my friend's house for the ENTIRE weekend because of the snow, on Sunday we dug ourselves out of nearly three feet. Then Firephoenix called to see if I had a snow blower...lazy bastard! *shakes fist*

It was a legitimate question! And you didn't tell me that you were snowed in, at least you had a place to stay.

I'm just glad the weather here hasn't gone into the 42¼C summer heatwave mode.

It's been mostly hovering around 30¼C for the past week or so. Pretty pleasant, really.

I hear that the amount of snow has basically uh, frozen Europe too.

I think the main reason that Canada is not getting alot of snow is becuase of global warming. I mean look at how many green house gases have been released into the air every day. So I guess thats the reason why people in Canada are not really alot of snow, due to the green house gases, and pollution. This can affect the people in the North and also the animals of the north pole.

It's 67 here with no snow...must be global warming.

Sorry, I don't mean to be offensive, BTW, just saying. Just seems odd to me that it's cold, really cold, in the US but since parts of Canada has no snow, it's global warming. Must be global cooling in the states, then.

AGAIN: I don't mean to be offensive.

Scientifically speaking, global warming will actually make Canada warmer; it's the United States that stands to get colder.

Actually, there IS global cooling in the northern and northwestern states, which is why so many Americans are skeptical about global warming. But across the world, global warming is the more prevalent change. We learned about all this in one of my classes last semester.

Anyone think that this could be a cycle?

For example, hurricanes. Some years are active, while others are dead.

Some years/seasons it get really cold, and then another it's warmer than usual.

Global warming and cooling is naturally cyclical but this current global warming trend is much more severe than scientific data from previous cycles hundreds of thousands of years ago. That's why scientists are so concerned about it: because we are increasing the rate of global warming to dangerous levels. After the last global warming cycle, we had the Ice Age. And we don't want another Ice Age.

We've got more snow headed out way on Christmas Day. We're worried about it because we have guests coming for dinner.
