| So, here's a preview of a story I'm writing, the first chapter of which is called In the Web of the Resistance. THIS IS NOT THE FULL FIRST CHAPTER. ----------------- Part 1 - In the Web of the Resistance "What do you think, Thurmon?" "About what?" "Rad. Do you think he killed that man?" "I don't know, John. His motives are strange," he stopped the car, and opened its doors, "if he even committed it." "And if he didn't, what then?" John questioned as the two walked into the bar. "Whatcha two talking about?" The bartender inquired. The bar was quiet, as most patrons had left by this time. "We don't get too many chatters in here this late." "We're debating wether or not our friend really killed a man," Thurmon replied. "Ah. So you guys're the ones housing Hastings, eh?" The bartender replied, a smile on his face. "Yes, also get me a Yuengling and my friend a Sam Adam's." Thurmon said, placing the money on the table. "So you are! I'll get your order, then, and don't worry about me spilling the murder, it's best if I- - leave it alone. Leave it alone, Rad, and it'll go away." A man mumbled to himself in a dark room deep in Thurmon's house. "He's just a thief, there's nothing in here, he can steal, except for me." He was panicked and sweaty. "He'll just go away." Rad Hastings knew the android thief would not go away, he had him on radar, and was now diligently looking for him. "Come on, out guy! You can't be scared of little old Eskels, can you?" Rad was terrified, the android was right above his tiny compartment he had called home for only a few weeks. He knew his facade as an old man wouldn't hold against an android. A crash. He had been found. He got pulled up by his hair by the android, who was bearing a wide, ominous grin. "Y-you couldn't have, not so fast!" "I did," Eskels said, "and there's not much you can do about it." "You're going to turn me in, aren't you?" Rad was sweating profusely. "Of course I am, and the entire Resistance will thank me for turning in the man that killed Ross Skullcrusher, our primary benefactor. He was on the fast track to becoming our leader, you know." Rad Hastings knew he would not be able to escape, he was now caught in the web of the resistance. ____________________ |
