I want to know why color ink for printers just seems to vanish. I print the odd color photo - not on high quality, mind you - and apparently I only have a tiny amount left based on the printer status screen? Where the hell does it go? Definitely not being used on black-and-white stuff...

I've had printers combine colours to get black for simple Notepad stuff. They did a lousy job so you could see, say, a reddish shadow to the text.

Oh, I could do that too but it's a waste of color ink + it really doesn't look all that hot.

Best is when the printer decides to run out of only ONE color - say, red - and yet you can't figure out why the red's empty yet the cyan/yellow inks are in very good shape. (Unless you ONLY print in red, of course.)
