Most people call me by my last name. That's pretty much stuck since 6th grade. I prefer it that way, as it's more identifiable than a common name like Chris, which I'm stuck with.

I get a lot of nicknames, just due to my name. Actually, most people call me by my nick name, which is a shorter related alternate to my actual one. Ever since I moved around to different schools a long while back, half of the people call me by my nick name, while the rest call me by my actual one.

My first name is Michael. Therefore, everybody feels they have the right to call me everything from Michael Phelps to Michael Jackson, depending on who is more popular at the time. I've never particularly minded it, though.

A group of "friends" have recently gotten into the habit of calling me The (last name), and it's spreading since they insist that everybody refers to me by that name in my presence. It's a bit annoying, since it comes with a lot of baggage that I won't bother to explain here, but it's still nothing to get upset about.

Other than that, I've been called pretty much every name Michael can be shortened to, and even a made-up one pronounced like Mick-Eye-El. Needless to say, this doesn't really bug me as well.

The ones I can think of off the top of my head:

Alphonse
Alphonso the Third
JFK
Joseph Alphonso ケルフェル the Fifth
Josephith
Short Person

These were all given to me by my friend Matt. I know that "Alphonse" was from him guessing my middle name, but I'm not really sure how the rest formed. (It's worth mentioning that I'm taller than he is. )

Matt is the same person who coined such interesting phrases as "oh my sweet vampire Buddha."

I get called by my last name a lot by a few of my friends but that's pretty much it.

Honestly, I've been called by a nickname my entire life. My legal name is Edward, and nobody but people who only know that name (people in businesses and stuff who are seeing me for their own work purposes that one day) call me Edward. Everyone says Ted, and most people think my name is Theodore, to which I reply "I'd be Theo, then."
