If you could instantly move anywhere in the world, where would you move to? For the purposes of this thread, we will assume that you will have enough money, know the destination language, and will have citizenship in the country, and you can bring any people you want and keep the same (or similar) job if you desire.

As for me, I would live in Scandinavia somewhere, probably Sweden I'm a big fan of social programmes for the poor, and I love cold or mild weather. Plus I like the European lifestyle in general from when I lived briefly in Germany.

Finland or Sweden, but I especially like Finland and their beautiful language and country.

I would also consider New Zealand, if things are too dangerous in Europe due to a war or something, although Sweden is usually neutral.

Either England or one of the Fiji Islands.

Actually, I'll just visit England, too gloomy for me.

Canada or Ireland. Sweden seems to be pretty nice as of late, though...

I'd consider England, too, but for some reason the thought of being there depresses me heavily.

Sweden (or Scandinavia in general) seems like a good bet. I've also considered Spain and Germany before.

Japan -- I love the culture, the language and the food. Since I have been there 3 times already and have studied the language for 6 years, I will feel right at home.

Ideally, Wales, love the landscape there and also has some benefits (had a great a relationship but ex moved there and distance became too much). Sweden is also a good place, it's nice and peaceful for the most part.

I would have to go with any Scandinavian country, especially Sweden or Finland, since I really enjoy cold weather and the nice political stability

Either that, or the Czech Republic... since I'm part Czech and I'll be visiting there and Germany next year...

I just want to stay right here. Close to a huge multicultural city with a cultural downtown while still close enough to nice, less settled areas.

If for some reason an atom bomb went off here and made this place totally uninhabitable, then I would like want to go and live in either Colorado or England. Both are good.

A fairly large house of at least two stories (3+ would be better), the bottom of which is just one big room with a bathroom and some closets off to one side, with some nice thick walls to keep the noise in, near the edge of a big city in Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, or maybe South Korea. Preferably with a nice view.

Alternatively, a secluded tropical island roughly the size of a football field, if I could get broadband there.

Epic idea! That with a special person to have fun with during the night would be amazing. I wonder how much a tropical island of that size would cost nowadays...

In a house.

Preferably somewhere in NYC, where I was born. I only spent five years there, but I miss the city.

I've never lived in a house. Maybe that would be nice, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

Houses are overrated, if you ask me A townhouse or condo is just as nice, maybe a bit more noise, but I don't mind unless it's ridiculously loud on a level normally only approached in student dorms. Houses mean you have to mow the lawn and (in climates with 4 seasons) rake the leaves and shovel the snow, and you're fully responsible for all repairs, which can be pricey if you're not a do-it-yourselfer.

Apartments are good for me now though I live alone and can't afford much else.

Probably not much, I'm sure the property value is atrocious during hurricane season
