figured there should be a thread for people who can never figure out what to get anyone this time of year.

I have a nine year-old brother who's really into gaming. he tends to get anything he wants so I can't just buy him some video game and call it a day, I have to be a little more creative. I would make him things in the past, but I'm burnt out on ideas this year. he's majorly into sonic, but also loves super mario and pokemon. you're a bunch of nerds, what would you do in my position? is there some sort of online offbeat gaming store I don't know about?

There are a few that deal in plushies, I think, but those are usually pretty hit-or-miss with people.

(Personally I always found the taboo on giving money really strange. It's a lot more exciting for me to get one big gift that I'll use for years than a bunch of smaller ones I'll only use for a little while (or not at all, sometimes ))

I don't understand the money taboo either, Xk. Considering most of the stuff I want this year is stuff my dad can't know about, money would be the best gift for me.

I often have trouble finding things for my dad. He's not into much, mostly stuff like the American Civil War that I have no interest in myself.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I don't really know anything about anyone. I'm always terrible at shopping for people.

This year, I'm planning on getting gifts for my parents and little brother without having either of them around. :ninja:

My father is relatively easy. I just have to go into the local Canadian Tire, (figuratively) throw a stone in some random direction and buy whatever it lands at.

My mother is more difficult. I know that she likes snowmen (Heck, we have the top of our cedar chest FULL of snowmen every year,) but I want to get something different (but not too expensive.) Any ideas?

And my little brother... Maybe I could get him a psp game, or a couple of DVD's... He seems to enjoy music DVD's (like The Eagles, CCR, etc.) I'm not sure where to go with this (I can always get help from my parents.)
