The worst day of the year, mostly for retails and for anyone who gets hurt and killed.

If you are working this Friday, please be careful.

I mean, eating dinner and then going to a mall/store to stand in line to wait for them to open at 2am/4am/6am/whatever is just ludicrous.

I've worked at GameStop on Black Friday, both in a mall and a strip center. Not fun.

This year I'm not in retail and I don't work either!! First Black Friday off since, well, since I started to work, I think.

Even though I wouldn't mind seeing the chaos of a Black Friday from a non-employee point of view and I would like to get a free copy of Lego Rock Bank from Old Navy, I just don't feel like dealing with the people.

Besides, I'm broke anyway. Going to stay home.

And if you don't know what Black Friday is, here.

For the love of all that is good, if you value your life don't go shopping on Black Friday.

Just don't do it.

Unless you work, in which case you're likely to be behind a counter and safe from the drooling, rampaging hordes of consumers.

When you say drooling customers...do you mean in high-populated areas like the cities of New York and so? (Not by reputation, by population)

Anyways, this and that. The Computers section. Which seems to be the best deal? I've tried to ask this on IRC, but no response. Any best-deals that you see on there?(and I still have this computer from 2007/06. Seems weak compared to some of the ones on the lists.)

I have Friday off this week Makes sense though, as I work at a school.

I already started Xmas shopping last week, figuring I'd beat the crowds, plus there was stuff I wanted to buy for myself at the same time

After getting my Gamecube on Black Friday so many years ago, I really do not want to shop on that day ever again. The week after, yes.

And then, you have to stay clear from doors, as they might as well be a deadly weapon.

I'm a fan of online Black Friday sales...

All of the good price, none of the standing in line, getting trampled, fighting, etc.

I stood in line at Best Buy last year for two hours, and ended up buying nothing. I'm not sure if I'm going this year or not. I don't see why I would, I have no money.

My only Black Friday experience was in 2006, when I waited ~4 hours to get a Wii. I think I sat outside the mall for 3 hours, and (after a security guard graciously unlocked the doors) outside GameStop for another hour. I was surprised to be first in line, considering how "late" I showed up.

I doubt I'll be doing that again any time soon. It was FREEZING outside.

See, I have to be at work for that.

And although I have training (meaning I'm not on the phone) it will be CHAOS. Lots of pissed-off credit card customers wondering why their card doesn't work. We might even open for optional OT at 5 or 6 AM.

I got some good deals on Black Friday, but that was only because I was at work during those deals.

At least we don't do anything like that in Canada.

Now, we take Boxing Day (December 26th) WAAAAAAY too seriously.

I work. Since it is a restaurant I doubt it'd be too busy.

However I do work Thanksgiving. Holy fuck is it going to be busy.

On thanksgiving, unless you're being sarcastic (which you could be) I don't see how it would be busy at all. Most people stay home and eat turkey and stuff like that on thanksgiving. Although maybe that's just here and not everywhere in the country

I was supposed to work 4:15 AM to 12:15 PM at Toys R Us(UHOH!), but the supervisor that is in charge of electronics looked at my schedule and said no, and then changed it to 11 AM to 9 PM. Sooooooooo much better now.

I work in a buffet style restaurant in a casino and we're set to be busy. Some people would rather go out than cook for themselves.

Still wanting an answer to this question. Also wondering why I can't seem to find where the computers are at Wal-Mart(one of them).

You'd be surprised. Tons of people eat out on Thanksgiving. We haven't had a homecooked Thanksgiving meal since my Great-Grandfather died in 1997. Most places are slam-packed, if they're open.

I actually had to eat out the past two thanksgivings, if I'm remembering right. It was then I learned that Denny's has pretty incredible chicken and fries.

I actually get to go somewhere this year though, fortunately!

MM200: I'd aim for Office Depot and grab a Toshiba laptop, personally. Just avoid HP/Compaq, really.

...If not a Toshiba, I'd grab the 17in. Acer laptop from Wal-Mart... but that's only online.
