I'm not too great at drawing, but I felt the want to show off a few sketches I've done and get some opinions and whatnot.

1) God from Maria Holic
Can't find what I based the drawing off, but this is close.

2 )Chibi God, same character as the last one
And this is what it's based off of.

3) A going away gift for my friend. It's Spirit from the anime Soul Eater and Akio from Clannad, but specific versions of them. It's Spirit from the end of episode 14 of Soul Eater, and MC Akio, as they're her favorite versions of them.

Sorry if they're difficult to see, I don't have a scanner so I had to hold them up in front of my lappy's webcam and take a picture. Also, the Spirit/Akio is going to get colored generally spiffed up by someone who's very good with photoshop, so I'll be sure to post that when I get it.

So yeah, opinions and criticisms of these would be greatly appreciated ^^

I'm not a fan of emulating other people's art, but I gotta admit that's pretty cool! When I was younger I used to draw Beavis & Butthead, Roger Rabbit, Donald Duck and the like for sketching purposes just like you. From one artist to another, practice practice practice! I can see 'em just fine, so it's no sweat imho...

Do you draw your own characters? Cause if you do I'd like to see 'em, it's past 1am & I gotta sleep... ^^;

I haven't really tried drawing my own characters... like with spriting, with drawing, I usually do well if I have something to base it off. I can give drawing my own character at some point in the future and see how I do, and post it here.

The Spirit/Akio one is the closest thing to original stuff by me, because I took two characters, and while I used pictures for reference, I had to change their posture and whatnot to work for the picture.

I'm glad you like them ^^ Again, I'll try drawing my own character when the mood strikes me
