My sister's exams aren't until next month, and she's already worried about them...

However, I remember when I had to cram for exams, even in high school (damn Regents exams...), at least I don't really have to deal with them anymore...

I'm the master of winging it on exams, homework, work, etc.

That's what happens when you're a procrastinator for 23 years.

Came out early, but since I've always been late.

I think I'm weird in that I actually do better work when it's done quickly.

Every essay or such I've spaced out has turned out significantly worse than those done in a couple hours.

I think that's because trying to get everything done in a few hours sort of forces you to think about things "in a nutshell" which ultimately is the main point of most assignments/exams

That generally works for me, too. But sometimes 15-20 pages stuff is a bit hard to do on the last day =P

Yea, I would typically work on papers over the course of a few days before they're due, and save exam cramming for the day/night before...

Pretty much like this, only I came out late.

I'm known for not working on an entire paper until the exact day that it's due

15-20 pages would be impossible for me no matter what the case.

I am not a verbose writer, I hate length requirements. I have trouble with even hitting two pages sometimes...

It's a pain, but doable.

I have a 15 pages paper due next Wednesday, but I chose the topic (its about DRM) so I have quite a bit of inspiration (of course, at page 11 or so... ouch)

I always do well when I actually start the essay a day before it's actually due, but the problem I have is actually doing the essay. That caused a lot of problems for me...

If I can't even do a simple one-page essay in one day, I would never imagine being able to do a 15-page essay in that same amount of tiime.

See my problem is that I can never get my paper SHORT enough to meet the length requirements. I tend to ramble on I guess. Probably doesn't help that my high school focused mostly on teaching us how to churn out LENGTHY essays as opposed to QUALITY ones either.

That, and most of my papers seem to require a ridiculous amount of information, which seems to me would be a 5-7 page essay if I were to adequately address everything that they asked for, but the length requirement is something like 2-3 pages, with 12 point font, double spaced, 1-inch margins. By the way, I hate having to make everything double spaced with 1-inch margins. It seems like every paragraph equals a page that way. Plus it looks ugly and is a waste of space. I know its for proofreading, but most of my classes don't even bother grading for spelling errors and grammar mistakes unless the paper is riddled with them, so what's the point?

I really hate it when I type my paper out normal, and I go "Yay! I met the length requirements!" only to then have to double space it all with 1-inch margins, and realize that I now have to cut half of my paper out

I actually like how we have to doublespace the papers.

Makes it a bit easier to meet length requirements. We have a font requirement as well (Times New Roman 12, ugh) but I've gotten away so far with just leaving it on Calibri instead... let's hope that trend continues.

Yea... I can't stand Times New Roman myself... I've always liked fonts like Garamond better, yet most instructors insist on 12-point Times New Roman

Also, don't use something like Times New Roman on a web page, especially at small sizes... typically, most serif fonts are harder to read on a computer display (I prefer Arial or Tahoma for web pages )

Well, I mean... The length requirements are adjusted for double spacing... I've always been one for TNR for my papers. Plus, it's MLA standard so I've got no choice...

Depends on the paper, if it's a research paper 20 pages is nothing, or even a philosophy paper i could get to 20 pages pretty easily. Now if it's a review of a book / article, or just an essay, 20 pages would be tough to hit.

I always use Georgia on my papers. I really never follow the requirements of teachers... unless they threaten to fail because of it. Actually one of my teachers asked me what font that was and started "requiring" that instead of Times on later papers.

I had a teacher who would try to rewrite every student's paper, and if he could cut out more than 1/4 of the paper, you'd get an F. I dropped his class.

Pretty much none of my teachers in high school ever seemed to care about spelling and grammar, from what I could tell. People apparently passed while habitually writing sentences like "Wiliam shakespear was a Inglish rider, wrote alot of play;". At least, when I had to peer-edit stuff I pretty mugh gave up on all the errors, especially if there was dialogue and quotation marks. In college my current teacher gets pissy because I prefer British spellings over Noah Webster's whimsical reforms

Never had a teacher that insisted on Times New Roman.

Surprisingly, I had a teacher once that insisted on sans-serif fonts; of course, since I prefer those anyways, that's no problem.
