Except on the interwebs!

The one place I can still be heard

So yay I've had this nasty cold/flu for about 4 days now and it really sucks. I only lost my voice today though, after everything went respiratory on me. I'm trying to choke some food down since I've barely eaten, but lately all that gets me is either diarrhea or extreme nausea/indigestion.

I don't know if I have swine flu or what. But usually when I get sick with anything, I don't get sick very often, but when I do, it hits me pretty bad. Still, normally I'm mostly healed by now.

I like finally having some time to relax, but I really can't afford to be missing all of this work. But, I work around food all day so I don't want to go and contaminate the place up.

I would go see a doctor, but our family doctor is a joke! I don't have time to get into all of the details, but basically seeing him would be a complete waste of time and a major bill without me receiving so much as a diagnosis. I REALLY need to find a new doctor. And I don't think my case is serious enough to warrant an emergency room or hospital visit, especially with all of the panic going on right now.

I'm pretty sure I have some type of viral flu though. Which means eventually it will cure itself. Swiped some antibiotics from my grandma just in case though. Not sure I trust them, pretty sure they are expired. But I would still trust them over my doctor. Sad.

If you had the Swine Flu, you would know it. My friend had it and he was told to stay at home and rest. If he had a fever of over 103.8 then it would be high time to go to the emergency room.

You can tell if you have Swine Flu by a very vague blue color in your skin. Don't ask me why, I am not a doctor.

But my recommendation for you is to eat some Cambles soup, and drink plenty of Sprite. Make sure the soup does not have a lot of solid foods in it, and the sprite should help relax your stomach to calm the vomiting.

Hope you get better soon~

See I was told that the swine flu could potentially be either very similar to the normal flu, in which case there is no way to tell if you have it or not without a specific test, or you could have a severe case that can kill you, in which case you would certainly know it.

If your skin starts to get a slight bluish color to it, I was told that that is when swine flu is taking its nasty turn, potentially developing into viral pneumonia, and that is when you need to high tail it to the hospital.

My sources are a cross between, internet, news, and people close to me who either know someone that has tested positive, or is positive themselves and under quarantine.

The only reason why I'm even thinking swine flu is that my symptoms are apparently atypical for normal flu. I've had a fever of 103 (its down now thank God), + all typical flu symptoms + stomach flu symptoms. Apparently, seasonal flu is primarily a respiratory infection, and nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, or any other digestive ailment are not typical symptoms of it. Stomach flu is actually not a flu at all but a misleading name for another type of infection. I thought I had a stomach flu at first, but my respiratory system is clearly infected since I'm coughing up light fleghm (I think that's what caused me to lose my voice), sneezing constantly, and have mild runny nose/congestion/nasal drainage. And all of my digestive symptoms are still there.

Of course, my sources for all of that are just various internet sources which aren't any help, that I've only been reading in a desperate attempt to determine a self-diagnosis. So who knows if I'm out in left field or not.

If I'm not better by Sunday, I'm just going to have to schedule an appointment Monday. Of course that's assuming I'll even be able to TALK to the doctor by then.

No kidding. Especially when my dad keeps being retarded. "Hey, you have a phone call! Talk on the phone! What's wrong?" or I start writing things out on paper, and then EVERY TIME I hand him the paper, he reads it, responds back, THROWS THE FRIGGIN' PAPER AWAY and then asks me another question

Swine flu sucks, and yeah if you don't have the severe case all you really do is just sit at home and be miserable for a couple of days. Lucky for me my immune system knocked that shit out within a 3 days, still had a fever 5 days in but the symptoms were nothing so I got to stay home from work and play video games. Pretty tits if you ask me.

Swine flu is really dependant on the host, so some people might not even notice it at all.

Luckily I haven't got it, neither a normal cold. I was pretty sick this summer so my immune system is fully charged

Some people I'm around often are sick, but its just a cold that they have. Even though its just a cold, they have a messed up voice. Now I can barely understand them...

In my case, I think my voice is messed up due to a cross between inflammation of the esophagus, sinus drainage, and constantly coughing up mucus. Fun.

Also, it may just be my paranoia, but I swear that when I woke up today and used the bathroom, I looked down and my hands appeared to be slightly blue. Or rather translucent would be the better word? My veins just seemed like they were on overload. And its been looking pretty similar all day, though it seems to look worse when I'm feeling hotter or am taking a shower.

I'm about to head to urgent care, but I need someone who can talk for me, and my dad is out doing the bus route. Which yay, he feels like he is catching what I have now, so he's probably off infecting the masses.

Probably just paranoia. Actually you're brain can cause symptoms if you constantly think you're getting them.

Also, regarding using the bathroom when sick, when I'm truly sick I usually can tell by the toilet seat. If it feels really cold, more often than not I am sick.

Dunno if it would be a flu... the voice thing doesn't sound like a symptom to me. Could also be a really nasty cold breaking out. :\

Even if it *was* swine flu, don't worry about it. Plenty of rest should do the trick in any instance.

Went to Urgent Care. Turns out it bronchitis mixed with with laryngitis. Got an Antibiotic. I should be cleared up by Tuesday. At least Urgent Care knows what they're doing, but without insurance its frickin' expensive! Oh well, at least I got a diagnosis, and I don't have to be paranoid anymore

Figured that was the case based on symptoms... granted, not the best mix out there but it's treatable.

Rest up.
