Yes, I know it isn't much, but I have been trying to figure out how to draw my sole RP character properly. Adding weird details as I go. The following pictures are in order of creation (With some going back and fixing as I go on):




Opinions would be helpful, as I know nothing of proportions or other artsy stuffs. Mostly constantly attempting this, despite how futile it can be.

MSPaint I gather?

There's really not much to say about this...

The third picture is the best. Show the most definition on the armor.

I suggest you experiment with the Curved Line Tool, if you're going to keep using MSPaint.

Considering I stopped drawing at the age of 5, yes. That would explain why it is so primitive. But yes, practice does seem to help. (The third one was made after the other two, after all.)

Curved line tool, eh? I draw freehand, currently.

Unless you have a tablet, or a LOT of experience drawing with the mouse, drawing freehand will get you killed.

Whatever my point was, my hat is off to you for causing me to draw something for the first time in like ages.

Granted, my artistic capability is still incredibly poor, but at least I'm practicing again.

Comments on your original post: MS Paint though it may be, normal drawing techniques such as planning out and making a wireframe-like plot of the pose still works wonders. (I mean those circles and so on that normal artists usually start by drawing. They still have a use in MS Paint, although they can be a bit of a pain to remove if you don't make them a light shade of grey or anything other than what your final outline will be.)

I've gotten some decent stuff from freehand (but that's how I do my stuff, kind of a messy lineart with freehand than I use my lovely bezier curve )
