I use Pidgin. It used to crash a lot, but it's been a lot more stable as of late.

However, for some incredibly odd, inexplicable reason, file transfers crash the program (and give me a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error). What's odd about it is that this apparently doesn't happen for anyone else I know that uses Pidgin on Windows.

That's because a bunch of possible bots have been trying to invade the site all day. Luckily, the site is smart and IP bans them automatically.

You could register at most boards with just a name and E-mail address, or even just a name, and sometimes you could even post unregistered. Now, it's all these E-mail activations and CAPTCHAs and such
