I'm not a big fan of hard candy, as it always leaves the roof of my mouth raw; I do like the taste of Jolly Ranchers and Everlasting Gobstoppers, though, and I couldn't possibly choose one over the other.

I'm more of a gummi candy person myself but if i have hard candy it's always Jolly Ranchers. Blue raspberry, cherry, apple, watermelon, grape, oh hell yes.

This mostly. Watermelon is my favorite Jolly Rancher though. Second is apple.

yeah, this is a smoothness problem, and happens when there are bubbles or edges on the candy, which happens a lot with cheaper hard candies mostly

Jolly Ranchers are very good, but... I'll toss in a vote for Wint-O-Green (Wintergreen, whatever) Life Savers. Trust me, they have more than enough sugar to be considered sweet.

Cherry Lifesavers are pretty tasty...otherwise I don't know many here that I like. The apple flavored Mitsuya Cider (which I haven't seen once outside Japan) is also a favorite. I automatically love anything that tastes like apple juice though... and I do mean the candy version of course, its flavored after the drinks of the same name (which are also great).
