 | Tomorrow morning I'm leaving on a week and a half long vacation to Orlando, Florida. While there I plan on going to some of the theme parks with my family, unfortuneately this means that I'm not going to have a lot of time for posting as I have a pretty busy schedule:
Saturday: 24 Hour (+ rest time) long drive begins
Sunday: Arrival in Orlando. Check in time at the hotel isn't until 4PM
Monday-Sunday: Going to theme parks from 9AM to about 10PM
Monday: Drive home begins
Tuesday: Arrival back home
I am taking my laptop with me and the hotel that I am staying at does provide free wireless internet for every room. I figured that I should post this just in case for some reason I'm not able to post while I'm on my trip, I didn't want anyone to think that I left Jul. Even if I do have some free time I may not be online for very long as I'll probably want to get some rest before rushing off to the next theme park.
Hopefully I don't miss too much while I am unable to post .

Don't tire yourself out too much and don't overdo it on the roller coasters.

How nice, coming here to take a vacation. Watch out for the heat and surprise rain.

But seriously. have fun, drink lots of water (its been hot) and enjoy the lines.
FYI, best time to hit the parts is in October.

I'll try not to .

If anything hopefully the rain will help reduce the length of some of the line ups at the theme parks .

Thanks for the tip .
Originally posted by yde I've never been to florida but I greatly enjoyed universal studios on the west coast, hopefully you'll find a similar experience there.
Thank you .
Alright I should probably get some sleep, I have to wake up at about 8AM to eat breakfast before we leave. I'll be online again on Sunday afternoon at the earliest .

Remember, the rain brings nasty humidity.
Are you just going to Disney or to Universal as well? Universal is the best to be, both of their parks. The Hulk ride is

Well you're going to get the heat pretty much everywhere right now, so...
Don't get screwed over by buying $4 bottles of water or however much they cost there.

Actually, it's really chilly in my area for the season, we've had no real Spring and close to no summer weather
Ah, $4 Venue Water, concert, Warped Tour, Disney whatever, it's all overpriced |

The parks in Orlando are cheaper for people who live in Florida. A perk that I need to abuse more.
And the water is expensive. Try to buy some at a grocery store before you head in.

So what, you just show your Florida driver's license and you're in at a discount?
Wonder if the theme park operators know that they can screw over the tourists but not the locals because they're too smart.

Yea, all you have to do is show your Florida ID and you can get a discount. It also depends on where you buy your tickets. Some places have better deals than what you can normally get by getting your tickets at the park.

Makes sense. I mean, like I said you want to screw over the tourists and get as much cash out of them as possible. Would suck if you lived 5 minutes away from one of the theme parks and didn't want to go because it would cost you an arm and a leg.
Nothing beats hockey games here, though. I think a bottle of water costs $4 or $4.50 based on the last time a friend of mine went. WATER.

And this is why I bring drinks/candy with me. Too much damn money.
One year, when my hubby and I went up to Universal for one weekend, we brought food from home with us to the hotel so we didn't have to waste money.

 | So after a fairly long drive and an almost sleepless night I've finally arrived at the hotel in Orlando.

I am going to both of the Universal Studios parks, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Tomorrow I am going to the original Universal Studios park, I'm looking forward to going on the Simpsons ride .

We brought our own bottles of water so we shouldn't have to worry about the high prices that the theme parks charge. I know what you mean though, It's bad enough that food is about twice as expensive as it usually is so having to buy expensive water just makes things worse .

Just so you know. You are not missing much at the Magic Kingdom. Only go there if you want to go all the way, or if you have kids of your own.
Epcot is a good park to go to. Be sure to go on Test Drive, and if the Food and Wine festival is happening (Which I think it is), and you are old enough: Take the around the world challange. Get drunk!
Animal Kingdom is pretty cool. If you want to see the motherfucking king of the jungle. Go there. A lion up close? Classic.
And are you going to MGM? Or Disney's MGM? iirc there exists two MGM studious. Disney's MGM is wah as all hell. Aerosmith's roller coaster and Tower of Terror are amazing to ride.
Anyways, have fun!

I'm going to the MGM with the Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. I'm really looking forward to both of those rides as I've heard from a lot of people that they are really good.

I think that Test Track looks like fun although I know that a lot of the park is just a mini tour around the world. Hopefully it's not that bad though .

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is so much fun! I only wish I had more time to ride on it.
Never went on Tower of Terror.

I'm sure that I visited Epcot in '87 when I went to Disney.
Course, it's not a good idea to go when you're 4 years old due to the fact that you can't remember anything about the trip. :\ Sure that it included Epcot since it was fairly new then.
