God DAMMIT Discovery, air something else!

In other news, I'm starting to make friends with the Sci-Fi Syfy (ugh) channel, just given that it's a refreshing change from all of the stupid-people-bickering-about-stupid-things Discovery channel, and overly-dramatized-and-over-the-top-speculation-about-the-future Science channel.

So anyway, you know how there's Pandora for radio and music? Is there something like that for TV? I'd really love to know, because this is getting ridiculous.

Hulu. But they don't quite have everything. Plus licensing agreements mean that episodes disappear from the site after a while.

Can I set Hulu up such that all I need to do is go to it, and it'll play a show that it knows I like?

...and, more importantly, it'll just keep playing shows and shows as long as I leave it up?

Just a question...

Why do you people even watch TV anymore? You know I haven't had cable for three years and I haven't regretted its loss since? I keep informed or more informed than most people with the net alone and I've had plenty of entertainment to go with it.

I don't see the point of spending 30, 50 or more dollars a month for something I'd hardly ever use.

I usually have the TV on, just simply to make the room not-quiet. There's something about certain TV shows that are just really nice to listen to, otherwise I'd just use the radio.

There are a few shows I liked seeing (mostly what GSN used to air before it turned to shit like "Deal or No Deal" ), Law & Order SVU / CI, and a few others.

But yeah, most TV these days is shit. I generally only watch the Daily Show any more.

Honestly, once Discovery started airing that show that basically features ghost stories presented as actual events, I lost hope for the channel.
The sames goes for The History Channel and its aliens, SciFi SyFy and it's wrestling, and The Learning Channel TLC for its reality shows.

So, yeah, I don't really watch TV anymore.

I just use my DTV receiver. As long as MyPHL and FOX don't suddenly evaporate on me, I have all the channels I need right there.

Of course, the former is only for those around the Philadelphia area...
