A/N:Howdy! This fiction is up on FF.net but unfortunatley no one really cares about that section (Games) much unless it's Sonic or Kingdom Hearts. So, anyway, I'm hoping this will get a better response here!!
----------------------------------------------------------------
Lara could smell the heady scent that was distinctively tea-like emanating from the bright red teapot on the table in front of her with whitish clouds of steam gently rising from its spout. She hesitated a second, looking around the room but no one else seemed as uneasy as she was, throwing back tall shots of saké and gulping frozen margaritas so big you could swim in them, swigging giant cans of energy drink or sipping glasses of blood-red wine.

Oh well she thought, grabbing the handle and pouring the reddish tea, It’s not as if it’ll affect me in real life and plus, the pay isn’t that bad either

She took one last glance at the steaming teacup, sighing and lifting it delicately; making sure her pinky was elegantly stuck out as she tentatively took a sip

“The saké tested well, Balmung-san, sir and the merlot is still awaiting a response seeing that it is more of a timed-release” Or maybe the idiots in programming didn’t make it strong enough Reki suggested as he fiddled with his data book but kept these thoughts from his boss who moved through the aisles between the rows of small, dark, wrought-iron tables with his usual commanding, administrative presence, leaving a sparse trail of white feathers as always

“Well, then, I’m glad to see everything’s going well. Just can’t wait to see all the players drunk in The World too!” Balmung commented

“Consumption will be monitored and restricted to certain age groups and certain levels along with volume by strength to ensure that there won’t be any issues” Reki reassured, tapping away at the touch-sensitive page, blindly following.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up in astonishment and he ran to catch up with his boss, shouting, “Sir, we are having a problem with one of the testers on the teas, table nine!”

Aware of the danger to the player, Balmung, now an Administrator to CC Corp, a bridge between the makers of The World he so loved and the players he so protected, rushed to the table

“Her heart rate is dangerously high and I wouldn’t-” Reki tried to explain and prevent the fiasco that would soon ensue as Balmung took a seat across from her “Do… that”

Now, he was pretty, his eyes black as oil spills with a dark headband to hold back long, spiked white hair that would have probably gotten in the way of all the great things he had to do, running around the .cafe//TEST with his white, angelic wings flowing in his speed. An angel. Well, he was an admin, so he was practically an angel to the players or something. But did angels wear thick, metallic armor that glimmered in the sunlight, dented and damaged like it’d seen many battles? Maybe he wasn’t an angel after all because angels couldn’t be knights like that after all. Angel-knight? Did that sound right? Didn’t think so. But pretty, definitely pretty and some kind of high-calorie dessert, the kind that was so sweet and so very, very good-looking in the case at the bakery but no doubt so, so bad for you but you didn’t care because it was so damn tasty and they’re only good in high-calorie kind. Getting your men ‘Lite’ was simply not an option. Oh, yes, pretty, white angel-knight boy was a damn tasty cupcake. Lara burst out laughing at this thought, imagining him dotted with rainbow sprinkles and a cherry-red… cherry on the top of his head.

Balmung had to hide his amusement behind his strappy-gloved hand as he watched her face change from surprise to confusion to some mix of flirtatiousness and attraction. He didn’t quite know where her character model came from, her fire-orange hair cropped short like many girls in The World despite Japanese anime’s promotion of long, silky tresses. Her eyes were a dangerous shade of violet which, while rare in real life, weren’t uncommon either, he could only imagine how many girls wished for purple eyes like that to scare and astonish the other kids at school. Milky, pale skin almost mimicked his own, a moon-white pastiness that didn’t require the customary need for being locked in dark rooms with no sunlight to play video games in front of glowing screens for hours to be kept at its light complexion.

“Charmed Tea, right?” he asked the girl at last, pointing to the red teapot, wondering what kind of response he would get and what was going through her mind

The girl giggled more, her hand pounding the table as he waiting patiently for her to stop

“Y’know…? You’re really… pretty…” she told him

He blinked twice. Blinked again. And this is why I don’t understand women Balmung reminded himself. “Umm… thank you” Must be the tea…

She giggled even more now, “No need to thank me angel-birdie-man, just a simple, simple little fact there!”

“Right… are you feeling okay?” Cause you aren’t acting like it he added to himself

“Hehehehe never better! I’m feeling great! The grass is blue, the sky is green and the clouds are the preeeeeeetiest shade of orange!” Lara announced, unable to control her laughter despite the fact that her stomach was starting to hurt.

She should stop. She should calm dow- but why? This guy was so funny! He hardly said anything, really but he was fluffy and puffy and… his girlfriend rolled her eyes, was he taken? It wouldn’t be surprising that this angel cuppycake was taken and not to mention she was pretty too with her short, blonde hair and velvety red dress. And booky too, she carried a book she was constantly touch-screening… was that even a word? Lara thought she could be a lesbian for her…

Reki, standing beside Balmung, however was not pleased, giving a moan of disgust, “I told you this was a bad idea”

Balmung himself was laughing a little behind his hand and trying to save face, his dark eyes alight with amusement, “No, she’s funny and we’re the only ones monitoring this test so we more or less have no choice” he turned back to the girl, “What’s your name?”

Lara couldn’t stop! “No choice? You guys are the only one watching us drunks?! Ahahahaha” she chuckled, leaning back on her chair, “But if ya really want to know, Cuppy, my name is LarAAAAHH!” she shrieked as her chair felt backwards, her back hitting the concrete, hard and the wrought iron making a distinct piiing! as it hit the deck

Now even Balmung couldn’t hold himself back, laughing heartily not at Lara’s pain but just at the hilarity of it all. Even Reki couldn’t help but to giggle a little. The Administrator bent and grabbed her by the hand, helping her up rather roughly. Her balance, however was still off and with the force of his tug, fell forward this time into his big, shiny armor but the angel-knight gently caught her before she could faceplant into his hot, hot bod.

“Th-Thank you” she stuttered, feeling suddenly tired, suddenly embarrassed- suddenly sober

“Are you okay?” he asked softly

She shook her head, her eyes wide and confused, “No… I feel so awful all of a sudden…”

“Your character needs rest” he told her, “And this shouldn’t affect you in real life”

“Heart rate dropping dramatically” Reki reported

“Do you have a hideout or something?” Balmung asked Lara but she shook her head, realizing just how close she was to him. He turned to Reki, “We can take her to Mistral her place is safe”

“I thought Mistral’s daughter has her avatar now, Baltan” that other girl’s voice seemed so far away

"Oh, yeah that’s right”

“You could take her to Ivy’s if she won’t mind you taking a strange girl there while she still obviously has feelings for you… I mean who doesn’t?”

Black.

oOoOo

Baltan? Is that the angel-knight’s name?

Balmung, actually, Reki just has a nickname for me

Who said that? Are you in my head?

No, you’re just being loud. And who do you think it is?

Oh. Blowfish. Why?

Why what?

Why are you here and not absolutely hating me?

Because I blame the tea, personally, I don’t really think you’d act like that

Oh, thanks… where is ‘here’ anyway?

I have friends in Mac Anu who let us stay here for a while

That’s nice of them… did the test go well?

No, we need to reprogram, and by the way, Reki is a guy

Wow… okay… tell ‘im I said I’m sorry

Again with the tea

Right. Tea. Of course.

Also, after everything CC Corp is paying you double for the test.

Really? Sweet.

Although I wouldn’t test again, it might not have been just the tea

You mean like an allergic reaction or something?

Data damage. I’m not sure how much can be healed and you can lose your character.

Seriously? Blowfish, that sucks…

I know, which is why I got the programming team immediately on the issue

Well, at least the pay isn’t bad

That’s true. Look I gotta go, Admin stuff…

Yep, cool. See you around?

Possibly. If I’m not busy doing-

‘Admin stuff’, I get it. See you (possibly) around then, Angel-Knight Cupcake

……What did you just call me?

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
