My finals were a couple weeks ago... one was a presentation where we had to present our senior design project and another was in Operating Systems Principles.

Let's just say I chopped up the Presentation (which is a shock because I suck at public speaking), and pretty much bombed the OS final, did good enough to end up with a B+ in a very difficult 400 level Comp Sci class so it's all good.

I'm in the middle of taking them. I'm still at a point where final exams are easy, so I'm not worried at all.
After all, I currently have a 99% average on my finals, and I doubt that the other four will give me any problems.

So, yeah. I can't really understand why people hate / worry about them as much as they do. Of course, I suspect that will change by the time I'm in college.

Yes... Well... Private education does this thing where they actually make the students work... :/

Yeah, I know. I've been in private schools for about 4 years.

Regardless, I don't see why people seem to dislike them so much.

Boats and hos?

That's my plan (scratch the hos).

As far as private schools go, we talking private high schools or colleges? From what I've heard the private colleges around here are easier cause you get more one on one time. If we're talking high schools... maybe I'm getting too old for this place.

Three of my four classes have a final exam although I don't write them until mid June. I'm worried about my Physics and Math exams although I know that my Electronic Workplace Studies exam is going to be a piece of cake .

Private HS is like... Education on steroids... Seriously... I'm a B+ student, but if you place me in a a public school, I'd probably get get high honors. (I couldn't say valedictorian because... well... I hate math as much as the next guy... )

I keep hearing what public history finals are like from my friends. They claim it's simply, 'Write a sentence on 10 people in history.' While mine will be like, 'From this list, give era, bio, and significance of 20 out of 22 people/things. Name the presidents in order. Write 4 essays on the most important battles of this war. Write a full length essay on this event. List these events in order from this time period to this one.' That's only a taste of what my history final will be like. I left out 2 sections that I can think of and there might be at least 2 more...

I'm attending a local private college next year, so I guess I could tell you guys what it's like.

Like some of you, I had mine a few weeks ago. I don't hate final exams though; mine weren't too hard, and they were a sign that the end of the semester had come.

Just to let you know, public high schools may differ greatly in their standards from each other.
For example, a C student at the nearest public high school, which happens to be the one my older brother attended, would likely be an A student at the second nearest. From what I gather, the private school I go to, which is supposedly the second best in the state, is only slightly better in terms of education than the public school my brother went to. (Except in mathematics, which is why I'm almost considering going there)

Essentially, public schools aren't necessarily poor in terms of education.

I took my final final exam years ago. Also, my graduating class in the public high school I went to had four co-valedictorians, which made several private schools frown.

I already took me World History AP test this week. I still have a few tests left, but the only one I know for sure would be my Geometry test, which I won't even finish until next week.

Many of my classes don't really have final exams.

Public school test results are ALWAYS misleading. Every year the paper will print the rankings of all the high schools in Montreal and the private ones will always be taking up the top 40-50 spots. So someone would take one glance at the rankings and think that the school ranked #126 is pretty bad, when in fact it's the #4 ranked English school on the island (for instance).

My first one is this Friday, Atmospheric and Ocean Dynamics (100 level course). It's mostly physics, just have to understand the physics, remember the formulas, know what they do/describe, and know how to use them. I should think...

Next one is next Thursday, in Meteorology (100 level course), it's also a bunch of formulas, but somewhat less physics, and some more descriptive stuff, radiation, energy budgets and cloud/raindrop formation, adiabatic heating, rising and sinking of air parcels, frontal systems and uh...

Last one is an oral exam in Physical Meteorology (200 level course) on June 5th, pretty similar to the meteorology course, but more physics (strange, no? ), and focuses a lot more on clouds and radiation. Almost half the course is also very similar to the climatology course (the radiation part) I took before christmas. Should go well.
