I've never even been inside a dorm before. When I was going to college, I lived right across the street, so there was no need. ____________________

I don't stay in dorms, but I visit friends in college who do and their dorms generally suck. Cramped space, tiny rooms, shared bathrooms/showers where people are slobs, one kitchen that no one takes care of, and a bunch of people you didn't choose to live with... I think I'd go crazy. I like having my own space and sense of order.

It's nice until you realize you can pay half as much to live off campus with a roommate and have 2x if not 3x the space...

Only thing I miss about the dorms is the convenience, and not sure it's worth the 700 a month I was paying to live in the dorms compared to the 325 i'm paying now.

Frankly I don't really mind not living off-campus. As you said, dorms have their share of conveniences and without me having a source of cash aside from my parents (who I doubt would pay rent), paying rent on a place would be hard to do. I could go the job route but without a car that's tough, plus I've been having a hard enough time keeping up with studies that I don't need a job adding to that. Hey, it's just for a month here. That's as long as my summer term will last.
