Good question... I'm not sure myself. Photoshop and The GIMP are too complex for me... X_X

An older version of Paint Shop Pro should be good for you. Much lighter than Photoshop, too.

Photoshop. It has a lot of filters, brushes, and other stuff that will really work well with whatever.

Even if the default things won't do, you can always download more brushes and whatnot. Its how a lot of those cool looking backgrounds get made actually.

Photoshop. Works for whatever you need to do without being too damn messy.

alt tags are dumb
I use Irfanview and Paint for everything, with the former usually strictly for silly filters/color change/saving.

Then again, I'm not an artist

I wholeheartedly agree with this man.

Yes, I'm completely serious. I use MS Paint for image editing, and Irfanview for saving files in different formats.

...Maybe I should get Photoshop DAMMIT NO YOU CAN'T MAKE ME DO THIS AUGH

My main issue... is that my favorite Paint tools don't seem to translate well to Photoshop and such.

Like... I keep on wondering where the tool to draw squares and lines is.

Not with Photoshop now. If you get a serial it has to be activated and if too many activate the same key it won't allow you to activate it.

I went with a better alternative. A torrent site I'm on has a 50 meg version of CS3 that has the bare essentials already cracked for use. I would buy Photoshop, but its way too expensive for what it delivers.

The last time I tried to use a keygen I had to start up my anti-virus program (and I haven't needed to use that thing in a long time too >:) I leave the keygen work to BooUrns

Dexi: Adobe should stop kidding themselves and just list photoshop under "freeware"
QDB.us fails for rejecting this.

Is it really that hard to pirate? Just get CS2 or 7. They're basically the same, and keygens aren't hard to find. Therefore, Grey Mario wins.

I also had a problem, when I got CS2 for the first time -- the keyboard shortcuts didn't work. I then got CS2 from my sister, and it magically worked. It was either that, or I deleted something. I'm not sure which.

(Also, learning how to use Photoshop could be fun. I recommend screwing around instead of finding tutorials, for the time being.)

Talk with me sometime and I can help you with things. It isn't hard to grasp, just need to know what does what and such. If you know layers, you know enough to really get going.

I used Photoshop years ago (downloaded it over 56k ) but never, everused it past the first time I opened it...

Too laggy and bloated for an old 300MHz to handle, and I haven't had much reason now either.
