I do hate showing my work...

My favourite class has always been science. No real clue why.

Oh, yeah. Right you are. I always had a thing for numbers and whatnot, but not shapes (or how to calculate them).

My problem with it was the fucking proofs.

As somebody who aspires to become a mathematician, I...

Well, you should now know how I feel about Maths regardless of what I was going to say.

I loved gym. It was health that was boring, which was required to take the second half of the year. One half you take gym and the other part is health.

Math so far isn't all that bad. Currently taking Geometry and plan to take Algebra II and Pre-Cal next year.

I also hate having to prove my answer in some of my assignments. It was one of the main reasons I didn't do well for a while.

Math has always come pretty easy to me, except for when the teacher neglected to explain what we were supposed to do because the text book was so confusing.

And I hated showing my work because I usually do steps in my head, which apparently confuses people trying to follow it.

...HEALTH? How the hell did that go?

"Eat healthy, work out regularly, practice yoga, don't do drugs, don't smoke, don't drink, don't have sex, use protection when it's time to have sex..."

Um... I'd be like Hiryuu in the sense that I like math and did reasonably well in it, but as soon as you get into complex crap I'm totally lost. English, History and Geography were pretty easy (and fun) classes as well.

My favorite classes were History related. I always read the entire text book within the first couple of days of getting it, so everything was pretty much review. It's a shame that so much of what is taught public schools in History classes is just BS.

Most of the health classes I took were taught by severely overweight teachers. And they just got stupid when they went into sex education. There are enough "Christian Conservatives" in our state legislator, that they were only allowed to teach "abstinence only" sex education, going so far as to disparage condoms as ineffective.

If the Honors I keep getting in them are correct, Anthropology and English are my favorites.

As well as Computer Science and higher level Math.

Of course, I'm a polymath, so it's no surprise.

My one issue is teachers who are too picky with proofs/answers. Math is exacting, yes, but nothing makes me angrier than when a teacher rips the whole problem's point worth away over a typo I made in the last step.

Guh.

Otherwise I'm pretty decent at math, even got an A in my first Calc class.

I did.. horrible in Math..
I mean, I loved the subject, but for some reason I was pretty slow with it! XD
My favorite classes were Gym, Health, Art, Science and Geography. For some reason, I'd do really well at those.
I'm a slow type of guy, I guess.

In my health class last year, I personally didn't learn much really, and the class was directed at females anyways. Seriously. Even though my teacher himself was male, people from outside came in to talk about health and sex safety, and guess what? ALL OF THEM WERE GIRLS :I. I mean seriously, how am I supposed to listen to a female oriented lesson and take anything away from the class? when am I ever going to have anything to do with the female reproductive system and periods?
all i can remember from health is uhh. The teacher himself just threw worksheets at us and didn't care.
......
..
Nothing. wow.

Maths used to be my favorite subject, but Calculus II kinda killed it for me with shit likt this:

I mean seriously, what the hell? How do they expect us to answer something like this on an exam? Trigonometric substitutions are even uglier

At least my love for maths is resurfacing a little thanks to vector calculus. Maybe because it's actually quite useful once you look at it

My favorite subjects are Music and Gym.
Gym is easy, because all I have to do is log hours.

Urg, I hated that as well. Why show the work if you figured out the answer without having to write down a bunch of scribble?

So when the world ends and all our calculators die, we'll still be able to do the mathematics to rebuild our society.

My favourite subject at high school was always Japanese, although Chemistry was pretty fun too. Then again, Year 12 was a tough time regardless of anything else.

Just to let you kids know, you're supposed to show your work to prove that you properly understand what you are doing. Otherwise, anybody looking at your answer will have no idea how you arrived at it, possibly no idea if it's correct, and definitely no idea where you made your mistake if there was one; nobody can help you learn from your mistakes if you can't show where you made them. (Besides, it sticks in your head easier if you actually express your work)

Essentially, getting the right answer without showing how you arrived at it is like trying to prove a correct point in a debate without showing any evidence to back it up. You may be correct, but nobody can objectively say that you are either right or wrong with your claim alone.

My favourite subject is music. Singing just comes naturally to me, and playing instruments is easy for the most part. Crowds are what I hate, though, and are why I will never be a performer, and never want to be popular.

Math is pretty high on my list of good subjects. I was doing the tip of Calc in school right now, grade 11, and I hate it so much that I switched over to another course. I can do that because I'm in an alt school. The newer course is more bearable, but still a piece of crap. Amoritization... pah!
