Disgaea's fun in that regard.

At first, it's normal.


Once you beat the game a few times, though, it starts going into ridiculous mode.



Sometimes it can get really crazy.

It's really just how far you're willing to go with it.

Now see my problem is that I think the game overwhelmed me with the multitudes of stuff going on and mechanics you have to remember/do to get into it. The whole Assembly thing confused me a bunch and I guess I need to grind some more or something since Chapter 1's boss almost defeated my whole team. I just find the game to be quite confusing at times. It's like there's too MUCH strategy for me to handle.

One of the first NPCs tell you that you actually need surprisingly little knowledge to beat the game; if you progress though it like a normal RPG, using old stages to level yourself and just buying basic items, you'll be able to make it though the games fine.

Chapter 1 can be a bit of a pain, to be honest, simply because of Enemy Boost x6 panels. If you take those out, the rest of it becomes cake.

I guess I could give it another shot sometime but I've got a load of other games to beat currently, plus I've got to get working on Volta again soon. I've got ideas flowing but haven't been acting on them.

Also don't forget their other sRPG's in the series (outside of Disgaea), they all grow to insane levels and stats as well (but not all quite as high)

In order:
- La Pucelle: Tactics
- Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
- Phantom Brave
- Makai Kingdom
- Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories
- Soul Nomad & The World Eaters
- Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice

I started playing them last year (also see my status bar here ) and have now gone through every game (2 of them emulated), but still didn't quite complete all of them (to the ultimate boss fight, long past the main story) since there can be so much leveling to do
