It took a lot for me to get used to in high school, I'll tell you. You've got to have a fair amount of pressure going into that thing to make it sound off nicely.

It didn't help I was using an 80-year-old contrabass either...thing didn't have the push behind it that it used to so I had to back it up with my already asthmatic lungs.

You better believe I got lung training out of it.

Yes, I played violin for 10 years. This electric one was something I bought a couple years ago for fun.

Okay, that looks really fucking badass.

I'm decent at percussion and such, though I've never officially played them...

The banner at at the bottom of the page (at least for me) is for guitar lessons. Is someone trying to tell me something...

I have an electric guitar. I can't play any one song, except for a somewhat slowed down version of the Norwegian national anthem. Yeah.

And I don't know any real chords, just the basic power chord (), but as most of the songs I want to learn seem to mostly just use power chords anyway, that hasn't been a problem...

I can *almost* play the intro to Welcome Home (Sanitarium) by Metallica as well, now. I'm just struggling with hammer-on/pull offs and getting the tempo right.

It seems now that I'm on my way to be what I don't want to be; the kind of person that can play the intros to a few songs here and there, but not much else. But I suppose with time something might happen.

Atleast I have noticed that if I actually do practice... I also make progress. Noticeable progress, but not by any means quick progress.

I've been wanting to start doing something with the guitar the last few weeks. My mom has an old acoustic somewhere in the house, and I have a friend who might be willing to teach.

Primarily trumpet, but I can play most brass instruments.

I guess I could list them all in order from most played:
Trumpet/Cornet
Mellophone
Flugelbone
Flugelhorn
Baritone TC
French Horn
Tuba TC
Trombone (Don't actually know the note-position combos here. Just played by ear a few times)

...And if you count a few catchy melodies the Zelda songs I taught myself two years ago, then Piano as well.

If I can force Kei to JOIN, we'd have a singer I think this would be hillarious

I'm a good singer. I use to take piano lessons as well. I can sing Tenor, Beritone, and maybe base, depending on how low. But anyways thats what instrument I play. XD! The voice is the ultimate instrument. It can be Base, Beritone, Tenor, Alto, or Soprano.

At first, I started practicing the recorder that I got for Christmas. I spent probably two weeks on it before I got tired and gave up on it.

Then, I started playing the violin for an orchestra class. It only took me a while to get the basics down, and I soon became one of the best players in the class. We used a seat-ranking system, and I was the first one to get the #1 seat of the violin players (which was about 7+ students, it was a small class). I kept that seat for a great majority of the year and only lost it for one day (I got it back the next day). I stopped playing it after one year, though I could've continued if I felt like it.

Next, I started learning how to play the trombone at school. I was considered one of the best beginner players in the whole class (there were a total of only three students playing the trombone in my class, but one was having a little trouble and the other I considered my rival), but I also got tired of it and only spent a year on it.

At the same time, I was learning how to play the piano. As always, I was one of the best players in the piano class. We often had to learn a piece of sheet music given to us, and we had to learn it in a few weeks, and then play it in front of the whole class as a test. I usually got nervous, but hardly missed a note when it was my turn. This is the only instrument I actually practiced for more than one year, but I still stopped after the second year.

Right now, I'm not playing any instruments, but I want to learn how to play the guitar. One problem though, If I remember correctly, I have to get my own guitar, but my parents would probably not agree in getting me one. I also plan on taking a piano class again. I just need to re-learn the basics again .

I sing... or try to at karaoke bars.

lol.

Used to play the Alto Sax, gave it up when I got into high school, one of the things I regret. Been tempted to buy a bigger saxophone (probably of the Tenor variety) and learn to play that. Always wanted to learn to play a keyboard or something too. Someday.

hmm... thats cool. I bet you are really good with the drums. XD! whats all this about a rock band anyways.... I think it would be awsome if I got to sing in it.
Get this, everyone thought my solo for school kicked a**. But when I brought up that I would think it would be awsome if I sang for a band or something, first comment heard was, "Your voice sounds more opera." Then again that was because I was singing "Pere la Gloria" by "Giovanni Bonchini". I might have mispelled some thinges there. XD!

Danielle, are you a lefty? I noticed your hi-hat on the right side.

Anyway, I do a little piano and drumming.
Here are some pics of my set:

I got into music about 9 years ago. Did piano for a year and then drumming for a year. I'm much better at drums and love it much more. My progression story is much like Danielle's. My hands were easy to work with. Took some time with hands and foot, and I've been practicing double bass a lot these days.
