"Key" Nintendo Game Coming

So Gamestop has been told to make space for some key game coming from Nintendo. Begin speculation or whatever. Hopefully E3 reveals more.

I actually like the comment one of the guys made in the comments section because I wouldn't be surprised at all if his prediction were true:
You heard it here first, folks. Gather your funds so you can reserve Wii Music 2 this Christmas.

Nah, it's the next Wii Fit. Need to reserve space for those balance boards!

Probably wouldn't be a Zelda because the next DS game's coming... then again, who knows. Mario is always nice.

Well, if it's another 3D Mario game, it better not be another star-collecting one. The idea is so overused it's not funny anymore. Why can't they make a more adventurous Mario game (like the Zelda games), possibly a massive RPG with a deep story (like Paper Mario but in full non-paper 3D).

A sandbox 3D (Colosseum-like) Pokemon game would be very good too.

I agree that the whole star collecting thing is a bit old by this point... something nonlinear like SMW or SMB3 would be really nice.

And no, not NSMB. That game wasn't good.

Another 3d Pokemon game would be nice. Colosseum and Ecks Dee were in my mind the best Pokemon games in a long time, despite the fact they're not really "Pokemon" games in the standard formula.

I don't mind the star collecting thing though...It does allow the game to be mostly non-linear even if they didn't take advantage of it. But some traditional platforming would be good. As long as if they do it 2d they don't make mario move like he had slime on his shoes like in NSMB. ;

I doubt that the E3 announcement will be anything earth-shattering, personally. Nintendo played all their "Key Game" cards in the first year and a half of the Wii's life.

NSMB wasn't bad either, though!

It was actually decent. Lacked a lot, indeed, but it also did a few things right. Of course, this is the very game that kept me sane... practically right before my surgery in 2006, so I might be a bit biased.

NSMB was in my opinion was alot of promise and a alot more heartbreak.
But what I think is that if Nintendo was to release a new 3D platformer Mario game at least make it co-op, Nintendo had put this idea on their to do list since "Super Mario 64 2".

The DS version was going to be co-op, but Nintendo set it's deadline too soon for it. Somthing like a Super Mario Galaxy 2 would be good.

I actually didn't like Super Mario Galaxy very much. I found that finding stars was way to linear (unlike in 64 and Sunshine where you would have to explore the entire level to find the star/shine sprite). I wouldn't mind another star collecting game if it was more like SM64 although a new SMB3 style game would be great too .

Is it just me or does it take forever to move large channels from the Wii to a SD card? Bought one today and transferred my channels onto it and it worked fine, but the large ones (World of Goo, Ys Book I and II, Paper Mario) took a few minutes each.

Considering the channels are a couple kilobytes, and the games are usually a lot bigger, it makes sense they would take longer to copy.

I think the Wii's SD Write speed is just absolutely appalling is what.

I could see it taking 20-30 seconds to copy World of Goo. Not 3-4 minutes, that's just appalling like Xenesis said.

Stuff loads off it nice and fast, though... very nice.

I agree. Although I liked Galaxy, I think the levels were to linear, I wanted to search for the stars and have them take me a while to find them, and not just follow the only possible path towards the star.
