I think it would be great even if the only things changed were models and voices, but adjusting his physics will make it even better.

Because you're such an appreciative hack player, aren't you?

Way to be a douche.

Luigi is just in there because, well, he's Luigi. People have long wondered why Luigi was cut from Sm64, so to have him even be playable is enough for most people.

Making him Luigi like can wait for later.

Well, Luigi is just a little extra. VL-Tone did such a nice job on it that I felt it should be included, besides it was a great learning experience working on the hacks necessary to make it possible. If I have time I may include some minor Luigi-exclusive stuff, such as a few different dialogs.

By the way, I'm using the Luigi from Toad's Tool 0.5.92b instead of 0.5.94b, which is scalled down a bit. Even though some people thing it's too big, I just like it the way it is.

Sorry I never ment to offend anyone by that coment, I was just giving my opinion on having Luigi in this hack.
I am very apreciative about having the option to choose Luigi in this hack, I just feel that he not as unique without his own physics.

It's ok, people probably overreacted because of the heated discussion about the polygon importer. Actually, I just did a few experiments so maybe I'll include some very subtle physics hacks.

Already done... Sorta.

Certain stars can only be gathered at night, while others only during the day. The day-night cycle does actually serve a purpose in the game.

well listen to this, if sonic could be hacked in to the game, he could change from normal to werewolf as time changes(day/night).

First of all: Mario's model cannot be changed yet, due to the complex structure of animation data. Probably will remain like this for a while.

Second: The game cannot switch between two models. That's like Mario by day, Luigi at night. If I'm correct, there's just not enough RAM memory to do such a thing.

Crack open an expanded rom and try to replace Mario's model, then come back and look at how difficult the idea you have is. :p

About night and day areas - I haven't done any major hacking myself, but from what I can see, there are different objects in different parts of a day - like NPCs and enemies. So would it really be difficult just to add something like a quite large, single object right at the entrance to other area?
Well, this message may be a bit out of time now...

It wouldn't be difficult, I'd imagine. Messiaen has added different objects during different parts of the day, so it's definitely possible.

It's just most likely not necessary for this particular hack.

(At the moment, replacing Mario and having it work properly is impossible. Adding some giant object at the start of some area would be possible).
