the blue translucent overlay is a PNG image, for 2 reasons:
1. using CSS opacity on any container also makes the contents translucent.
2. the crappy IE doesn't support CSS opacity well enough.
though this image could be incorrectly rendered with old navigators like IE6 and older.
i suggest you upgrade to IE7, or switch to Firefox or whatever.
i chose to make the overlay dark blue for a reason: the links on this forum wouldn't be visible enough with something like a sky blue.

I agree with the text, could need some color changing, and adding a <hr> tag to the start of the signature would help discern it from the main post.

Other than that, very good!

Edit: Haha, you ninja'd me. And the bold fixed it for me. Just the <hr> then.

I'd actually make it white or something so it contrasts more.

edit: for me there's already a separation between the post and the sig (dots).
see your profile options. but i could try putting the sig in a separate div.

The sig has too much focus. There's too much space dedicated to it. The sig should more of a single line we only occasionally notice rather than a huge space that's just as big as the post. This is distracting. Plus, you have this beautiful picture that has all of the action going on in the sig, and nothing but bland blue in the posting area. This constantly directs our eye to your sig, and makes us want to skip reading your post. That's not good! You want us to pay attention to your posts, not your sig. The picture should be more of your post background rather than your sig background. Other than that though, I'd say its looking pretty good. Just keep tweaking it as we make suggestions and it will be perfect.

Edit: You also might want to slightly darken the transparent png to help the white text stand out more against the busier parts of the picture. I want to see the picture as I read your post, but not be distracted by it.

Oh, no you misunderstood. The space separating them was fine. Actually, I just realized that what I was talking about shows up in Opera but not in IE. In opera, your layout is huge.

That's an odd problem. Could it simply be how the browser decodes the layout? It looks fine for me in Firefox 2.

Remove "min-height:100%" from both DIVs and it should work in Opera.
