Summertime meant playing outside. Mika was busy loving every minute of it. Her friends were busy being somewhere else, anywhere else but near Mika, so she was living it up by herself, running around this swell field she found, making flowers bloom every which way she went. She was gripping her Caret blade in her left hand, spinning around the field, barefoot. The grass was damp enough that it wasn't itchy, but dry enough that it didn't get the trims of her black pants wet.

She'd been out here for about 10 minutes, so she was starting to get bored. She elected to go exploring, but tripped on a rock, and landed face first into the soft grass. She melted and reformed to a standing Mika, too lazy to rise normally. Just as she was dusting herself off.......

A towering man of steel walked through the grass and into view. He was 6'4", heavily armored, with brown shoulder and knee pads. On his right hand was a strange time device, which showed that it was 3 minutes to midnight, despite the fact it was broad daylight out. The man breathed coldly as he pointed at the target for today.

"You have a bounty on your head. The bounty is vague, but... it says you must die." The man took out a piece of parchment, written in a scribbly blue ink. He looked over it, and, ascertaining this fact for the second time, rolled it up and stuck it into one of many slots in his suit. His cold, blue visor shined menacingly at his foe. He made a step forward, crushing some more grass in a mushy fashion. The sun shone bright behind him, as the spectre of a man took out his weapon.

It was... a golf club. He took out a stump of a rubber handle from a compartment in his right knee, clicking open the kneecap as if it was not real and just taking it out nonchalantly. He raised it over his head, and pressed a button on the end. With a crisp shinking noise, it became a full-on nine iron.

Only this wasn't a normal nine iron... it was... a nine iron from hell itself. The wrought metal shined a strange silvery hue, and at the end a sharpened blunt club-like surface with several notches was apparent. This surface was pitch black, and made no shine; all light that hit it ceased to exist. The man held the club with both hands, on the handle, with the end of it high over his right shoulder.

He made a twisting motion. The end of the club, as well as the metallic portion of its length, but not the handle, burst into flames. The vile flames filled the air with a kerosene smell, as the man walked towards his foe, trails of the fire dripping onto the grass behind him. He soon reached his foe... and then swung quickly at Mika's neck, trying to decapitate her in one firery swing. But... even as his targeting sensors had locked on, giving him 100% chance of success....

...He had the feeling that this wasn't just any girl he'd been hired to destroy.

Mika normally had the ability to sense the intentions of the people around her, but she wasn't reading a damn thing from this man... But that was because she could care less. He hardly looked menacing to her, and seemed a tad comical. She'd fought robots many many times in the past, and they always proved weaker than her friends.

Anywho, she gripped the grass with her toes and ducked low to the ground, significantly faster than gravity would be able to pull her. Ah normal person would have half hopped into the air. The robot was very very fast. She was having a bit of trouble focusing though, and just went through motions, slinking away a "safe" distance of 20 feet in almost an instant, and forming up to standing.

"A bounty, you say?" Mika asked, giving him a playful smirk.

The man stood tall from his missed swipe. He snapped his chunky fingers, and weird plates flew off his feet. He suddenly began hovering about 3 inches off the ground. Hovering back while strafing, he pointed at his target.

"Yes. My employer has requested to remain confidential, but they want you dead. For the money they are paying... I cannot refuse."

The man's right shoulder pivoted forward, with his left shoulder pulling back. The golf club had magnetically snapped to his wrist earlier; it quickly resumed its position in his hand, though, as he flew at his foe, intending to impale her with the deadly sharp golf club. The flames roared as he flew at her.

His cold eyes stared intently underneath the mask of steel. He calculated possible escape vectors. Indeed, he got within a few seconds of hitting...

...And suddenly moved the golf club to threaten her shins instead, expecting her to turn around, jump, run, or kick at him. The sheer length made it like a flying fence, not to mention Metal Man's own mass would do serious damage if he crashed into the girl--he was like a cannonball at these speeds.

A crazy smirk appeared beneath the visor, his crooked, white teeth gleaming like that of a shark's.

Mika figured that this was pretty straight forward. She'd take him by surprize with no visible tells. He shouldn't have made the mistake of attacking head on. The instant he was within' striking distance (5 feet.) she did something unexpected. From out of her stomach, a red sword shot straight forward, aiming it's tip for Metal Man's chest. She didn't flinch, or show any sign of movement, other than the red sword shooting from her stomach.

The man's eyes shifted, and he immediately swung up his golf club onto the sword. It was sliced open, and hurled flaming kerosene all over Mika as the metallic monstrosity lurched out of the way, a scratch on his armor and some flames on it, too. He hurled the useless handle out of the way and then methodically took out yet another weapon, this one being some sort of hockey puck.

"You want to play ball? Then I'll show you how we do it in the big leagues."

He flicked the disk at Mika. ...It flew right over her head, then sprouted a serrated edge of blades. It whisked around, flying at Mika's sword-holding arms as Metal Man took out a silver TT-33 pistol, probably former Soviet make. He aimed directly at Mika's right shoulder and popped off three shots, hovering back a bit before strafing to the left and firing several, as the hockey puck flew at the possibly flaming target from behind.

He smirked evilly as his sensors measured probabilities of damage. However, he did not like that scratch one bit... he added a note to his personal computer, to have that polished out.

Mika was initially surprised, but then confused. This fire was man-made... It wouldn't be able to continuously hurt her if she put it out... but PROTIP: Don't destroy his weapons in the future, because they emit pain.

Various bits of her body that were covered with fire flipped over and overlapped themselves, smothering the flames, regarding the kerosene itself as harmless, and absorbing it into herself.

Mika WANTED to give some sort of witty retort to his Baseball related line, but didn't have time, as she noticed, and took a step back to avoid the sharp edge, only managing to utter "Well the--."

She grabbed the red sword with her right hand, and held both out to the sides, at ready, completely ignoring the spinning disk, after it's first pass around, keeping an eye on Metal Man's gun. Mika wasn't afraid of pistols. One dimensional attacks would never be able to hit her. She demonstrated great ease, turning her left side to him, and stepping back to avoid his initial volley of shots, then holding her red sword upside down, blocking the next set of shots. The bullets vanished on contact with this sword, not ricocheting or anything of the sort.

She completely missed the hockey puck's next pass through, it hit her in the right side of her ribs, but she reacted in time to avoid being cut any deeper than an inch, and opened a hole in her torso for the contraption to fly on through.

This was getting to be annoying. She'd been hit, and while it didn't damage her very much, it hurt like a bitch. Metal Man has so far maintained the offensive. She'd usually have had time to attack by now... fuck...
