This was for a class. I was playing a lot of Nier at the time. If you can't catch the reference... whoops.

The darkness is the scariest part.
I can deal with the blood,
that's how a warrior is supposed to go.

My legs ain't workin' like they should...
I try to force 'em underneath me, but no.
Slippery earth and pain reward my efforts.

My eyes won't open -- do I have eyes?
I don't remember. I do, I think.
But they're useless, just like my spaghetti legs.

I sing a little as the muddy earth shakes,
my song accented with gurgling blood and coughing.
Maybe I shouldn't sing. The gods don't like it.

I can feel 'em cryin' at me to stop;
big salty tears fallin' on my wounds.
They sting, and bring me around some.

"C'mon, you giant piece of shit!"
My spindly legs find their way beneath me,
my hand tightening around somethin' heavy.

"What, you can't finish the job?!"
I take a step towards the rumbling,
ready to face whatever it is that hides in the permanent night.

I feel a hot wind at my face. A breath.
"The fuck are you waitin' for?!
You're only killing a wo--"
