Hey Schwa, you're fast with learning Computer related things, don't you? The boss seems good, but a little bit hard. ^^ But that's again, you're opinion. Say, how does it come that you're so fast with learning ASM?
Believe in me, that's one of the benefits of being Autistic.
But don't get the wrong idea. I might be learning fast, but I'm still quite the beginner; I tried making a sprite from scratch with mikeyk's tutorial and I can't even get the graphics to draw properly. I was trying to draw a 32x32 sprite and animate it... No dice. It just gives me flickering garbage over the entire middle of the screen. ...I wish Nightfall was ready... I could ask for help...
Anyway, thanks for the compliments on my custom boss. He took some setting up, but he wasn't that hard to do, since he was mostly based off mikeyk's Birdo... And yes, I know, I can't draw to save my life. Sorryyy... Also, he is a little challenging, but there's some secrets to beat him. If you have the Cape, you can whack the canes out of the air, grab them before they fall, and throw them at him for a more accurate attack.
Also, I updated this guy. Now he does two things differently: 1) Each time you hit him, you get points. The more he's been hit, the more points he's worth, and you get a 1UP when you defeat him. 2) He starts out not being able to jump very high or throw very often, but as he takes damage he jumps higher and throws more often. This makes for a gradually harder fight.
NICE job on the music, SNN! The Last Battle is catchy and expertly done-- I love how you even got the echoes to sound right! I'm listening to this SPC right now as I type. Ah, so you're taking a break from these musics? I know how that is. How's your actual hack coming along? I saw some of the hack on YouTube (Boothoven's Fort), and it's awesome. This is gonna be one of those great hacks that ranks up there with TSRP2 (which is probably the best hack of all time).
Well, I have something new too. But it's not a video, it's a screenshot of part of my Overworld-- one of the submaps. I just HAD to show this off...

I'm gonna have to wholeheartedly thank Mattrizelle (or however you spell it) for providing me the offset to disable the Bowser Valley submap lightning. Otherwise the palettes would look all glitchy. Anyway, this World is, as you could probably guess, based on puzzle solving (though I have none of the levels done for it yet).
That water level you see isn't actually a level. It's labeled "Wading Pool", and it's the destination drop-off point for another one of those dynamic Overworld warps in World 5. (The warp is a level located in a whirlpool in the Ice World, and it's called "Tempest".) The two pipes are cool; one leads from World 2 (where Mario's standing), and the other leads to World 7, but if you play through World 4 first instead, you come FROM that pipe, and you can play the neighboring level to get back to World 2 instead of the other way around. (The secret exit for that level actually leads onto the island, where you can make your way towards the castle.)
Freeform Overworlds are made of win.
