So I've started studying Digital Design and Graphics. I'm not sure exactly what I want to do in this field yet, but I know I'm definitely interested in it, and I have some skill.

Right now I'm still very much in the learning stage, and I'm mainly focusing on learning certain Adobe software and going from there. I'm pretty good with Photoshop at this point, at least when it comes to the photo enhancement side of things, but I've barely dabbled in the other programs I want to learn, such as Illustrator, Indesign, and Dweamweaver. I also haven't dabbled that much in the kind of things that actually make money such as web and graphic design yet, though I know the basics, can get things done, and intend to learn a lot more in these areas.

Anyway, one of my sisters thinks that she might be able to get me an internship somewhere even though right now I really only know Photoshop. She asked me to set up an online portfolio/resume so she'd have something to link people to. Here is what I've managed to create using BigBlackBag.com

This is the first fully functional website I have ever made, and the service I used automated a lot of the process. Some things I can change, some things I can't. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can improve the site before I send it off to potential employers? I'm interested in any form of constructive criticism you can offer. Just please no simple "it's good" or "it's bad". I get enough of that from my family. Let me know what you like and dislike.

Just a few things:

You really should have a no-javascript fallback built in.
Clicking on an enlarged image should bring you back to selecting thumbnails, or onto the next image.
You might want your Before/After on the same page, for easy comparison. A person looking to hire you will want to be able to tell at a glance what you can do.
Your resume really should not be an image...

That is all I can think of right now.

I agree, but this site won't let me do that. I probably could if I actually knew what I was doing, but for now everything I do has to be based off of the site's templates, none of which offer alternatives to this.

Again, this site limits my customization in some areas, and navigation is one of them. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with the current setup here.

This I can actually change, but it will be a little time consuming, so I only want to do it if someone can convince me that it will be a major improvement over my current setup that will make or break my job. I'll consider this as a future update, but for now, I think what I have gets the job done well enough.

Tell me about it! But what I really hate about this site's templates is that they will let you add very basic HTML, (by that I mean EVERYTHING is restricted and you have practically no control over how your text looks outside of some very ugly predefined styles) but it will not let you style it with CSS or anything else that will actually make the text look desirable. Unfortunately, the only way I could style my resume into something readable, structured, and balanced, was to style it in an external program that would actually give me control, and upload it as an image . So I sacrificed some optimization in favor of style. I figured it was more important for viewers to get a good first impression of the resume and to be able to read it than for them to be able to highlight text. Its retarded that I even had to sacrifice that though, but that's the tradeoff of using a service like this I guess.

Anyway, thank you for the feedback
